IBPS (Institute of Banking Personnel Selection) began its journey with the nationalisation of 14 major banks in India in 1969. There was an urgent need of supplying banking services for the service of consumers which was impossible without recruiting employees. However, selecting right people for the job was a tremendous task to be carried out so that new branches could be expanded. Over the years IBPS has evolved standard selection criteria and adopted a selection system that was open to all the qualified candidates. The purpose of adopting this method was to maintain transparency/ Fairness in the recruitment process. Since branch expansion was the priority of the bank, therefore, they started release notifications inviting suitable candidates.

Candidates are desperately waiting for the next notification that shall be informative describing all the points in detail. While the next information is released i.e for 2018. We are describing the expected requirements that may be included in 2018’s agenda. The next notice shall be coming for the post of Probationary Officer / Management Trainee in public sector banks. It shall be out tentatively in the month of July, 2018. The recruitment process shall comprise of two phases i.e. Preliminary and Main exam. The tentative dates are listed here.

It is expected that the application form filling that will be done in online mode at ibps.in may begin in the month of July 2018 and could be accessed by August 2018. The admit cards will be issued in October for Prelims and in November for Mains. The entrance exam will also take place accordingly after which the result shall be announced by December at the latest. Interview for selected candidates will be held in January 2019.

Minimum Eligibility Criteria

Candidates should meet the following eligibility requirements in order to apply for IBPS PO 2018:-

  • Nationality- candidate must be an Indian National
  • Educational Requirements- candidate must have done Graduation in any discipline.
  • Age Limit – applicant must be between 20 to 30 years as on 1st July 2018. Candidates belonging to reserved category might get relaxation in the upper age limit.

IBPS PO 2018 Expected Selection Procedure and Exam Pattern

The candidates are tested on three standard and crucial phases

  • PHASE I-Preliminary Exam (100 marks)

Exam Pattern of Preliminary Exam

The exam shall be conducted in online mode, where candidates may be required to solve 100 MCQs related to three major sections including- English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability. The question paper might be of 100 marks for which you shall get only 1 hour. A penalty of 0.25 (25% marks) for each wrong attempted response is asserted.

Exam Pattern of Main Exam

The question paper might be of 200 marks for which you shall get only 2 hours. A penalty of 0.25 (25% marks) for each wrong attempted response is asserted.

Expected Pattern of Interview

After qualifying Main exam, candidates may further be required to appear for 100 marks interview session. All the candidate must produce the following original documents at the time of interview:-

IBPS PO 2018 Admit Card

IBPS shall perhaps upload IBPS PO 2018 admit card in three phases i.e first for Prelims, secondly for MAins and then finally for the candidate who have been selected in the INterview process as well. The entry pass of all successfully registered candidates shall be issued using the link embedded on the official website. Admit Card shall not be sent individually via post or any other medium.

IBPS PO 2018 Result

There will be sectional cutoff in IBPS PO 2018 exam meaning that the candidates have to obtain minimum qualifying marks in each section. Furthermore, the authority will declare result in three phases:- first for Preliminary exam then for Main and at the last for Interview.
