IBPS PO Admit Card 2026: PO/MT-XVI Call Letter & Exam Rules

Both IBPS PO call letters for CRP PO/MT-XVI have already been issued: the Preliminary Examination was scheduled for 22 and 23 August 2026, and the Main Examination date printed on the Main Information Handout is 4 October 2026. The Main call-letter login on ibpsreg.ibps.in now shows "Call letter Download is over". The next letters for shortlisted candidates are for the Personality Test, scheduled for November, 2026, and the interview, scheduled for November/ December, 2026.

How is the IBPS PO call letter downloaded?

Clause Q of the CRP PO/MT-XVI notification says an eligible candidate downloads the call letter from www.ibps.in by entering the Registration Number and Password/Date of Birth. No hard copy of the call letter or Information Handout is sent by post or courier. Intimations go by email and/or SMS to the email ID and mobile number registered in the online application, so a changed number can mean a missed alert. Candidates who opted for a scribe fill in the scribe's details while downloading the call letter and download the scribe declaration form separately.

What is printed on it, and what happens to it at the venue?

The call letter carries the centre, venue address, date and time of the examination. The reporting time printed on it is earlier than the start of the test, and anyone who reports after it is not allowed to take the examination. Requests to change the date, time or venue are not entertained. Queries and complaints go to cgrs.ibps.in.

The Preliminary call letter is not collected at the venue. Exam staff authenticate and stamp it, together with the photocopy of your ID, and hand it back. You must bring both stamped documents to the Main Examination with the Main call letter. The IBPS notice dated 29.09.2026 repeated this for candidates shortlisted for the Main. Without the stamped Preliminary call letter and stamped ID copy, you will not be allowed to take the Main. Paste your photograph on the call letter and carry one more copy of the same photograph. IBPS advises keeping about 8 copies of the uploaded photograph for later stages.

Exam-day rules for IBPS PO 2026

• Identity proof: the original and a photocopy of a valid photo ID bearing exactly the name on the call letter, such as PAN Card, Passport, Permanent Driving License, Voter's Card, Bank Passbook with photograph, or Aadhaar/E-Aadhaar card with a photograph. Ration Card and Learner's Driving License are not accepted. Candidates who have changed their name need the original Gazette notification, marriage certificate or affidavit.
• Time at the venue: the Preliminary test lasts 60 minutes, but the Preliminary Information Handout says to expect about 150 minutes at the venue. The Main lasts 3 hours 10 minutes, and the notification says to expect about 4 hours or more.
• Biometrics: at the Main Examination the photograph and right thumb impression are captured and Aadhaar verification is done. Wash off ink or mehndi before exam day. Refusing biometric capture may lead to cancellation of candidature.
• Banned items (Clause O): stationery and paper bits, calculators, pen drives, mobile phones, Bluetooth devices, earphones, health bands, goggles, handbags, hair-pins, belts, caps, any watch, any metallic item, and any food or water bottle. The venue cannot assure safekeeping.

Personality Test and interview call letters

Candidates who qualify in the Main take a self-report Personality Test. It is non-qualifying, but appearing for it is mandatory before the interview, and it may be held in proctored mode or at examination centres. In CRP PO/MT-XV it was scheduled online in Remote Proctored Mode for 12.12.2025, with the test link and user credentials sent by email. Interview call letters are downloaded from www.ibps.in and give the centre, venue, date and time. At the interview you must hand in the call letter with a photocopy of your photo ID. Eligible outstation SC/ST/PwBD candidates are paid second-class rail or bus fare, or the actual expense if lower, on proof of travel.
