Candidates can use the marking scheme of the examination and the unofficial answer key released after the exam to calculate their tentative IBPS SO scores. The official body has prescribed a negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer for the objective-type tests. By calculating the tentative marks scored by the candidates in the examination, candidates can analyze their performance during the exam. Examinees can use the formulas given below to estimate their IBPS SO prelims scores.

  • Firstly, candidates have to calculate the subject-wise marks scored, since the distribution of marks is different for different subjects.

IBPS SO Prelims score (for Reasoning and General Awareness/Quantitative Aptitude) = (Total number of right answers x 1 marks) – (Total number of wrong answers x 0.25 marks)

IBPS SO Prelims score (for English) =  (Total number of right answers x 0.5 marks) – (Total number of wrong answers x 0.25 marks)

  •  Finally, the candidates must add the total marks scored in all papers.

IBPS SO Prelims total score = (Reasoning and General Awareness/Quantitative Aptitude scores) + (English score)
