IFS 2019 – Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released public disclosure of scores and other details. Earlier, the final result of UPSC IFS 2019 has been declared. The interview was held on February 10 to14, 2020. The candidate’s recruitment for IFS 2019 will be done on the basis of Prelims, Mains and Interview. The recruitment will be done for approximately 90 vacancies. The finally selected applicants will be appointed as the Forest Service Department. All the three stages of the examination (Preliminary, Mains and Interview) will be qualifying in nature. The candidates who are selected for the mains exam have to apply for the main examination by filling the Detailed Application Form (DAF). IFS 2019 Main Examination Schedule
Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the IFS 2019 main examination schedule.
IFS Admit Card 2019
For each stage of the examination separate admit card is released by the UPSC at the official website. At first, admit card for the preliminary examination is released. Admit Card is the key to enter in the examination hall. Admit Card contains the name of the candidate, father’s name, examination name, center code, exam duration, gender, photograph, signature, etc. On the day of the examination for all the candidates, it is mandatory to carry a hard copy of the admit card and one valid id proof (aadhar card, pan card, driving license, passport, voter id card etc).
IFS Application Form 2019
In the IFS application form 2019, candidates should fill the valid details. Before filling the candidates first should make the application fee payment by using Visa/Master/RuPay Credit/ Debit Card or by depositing the money in any branch of SBI by cash, or by using net banking facility of State Bank of India. In the form, candidates are required to fill the personal details, contact details, educational details, qualification detail etc and required to upload scanned photograph, signature and thumb impression.
Application Fee: Rs. 100 (Gen/OBC) | Fee Exempted for SC, ST, BC, PH & Ex-Servicemen category candidates.
Eligibility Criteria Of IFS 2019
Before filling the application form candidates should first read the eligibility criteria. From below candidates can check the detailed Eligibility Criteria Of IFS 2019.
Nationality: The candidate must be the holder of Indian Citizenship or a subject of Nepal a subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan who came over India with an intention of permanently living before January 01, 1962.
Or A person with whose origin is Indian but has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Srilanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Age limit: The candidate age should be between 21 to 32 years as on August 01, 2019.
Age Relaxation: There is a provision of relaxation as per the category of the candidate. The age relaxation is given below.
- SC / ST Category candidate – 05 years.
- OBC Category candidate – 03 years.
- Ex-servicemen, Commissioned Officers, and ECOs/SSCOs Candidates – 05 years
- The age relaxation is up to a maximum of three years, for the candidates who are personnel disabled while serving as Defence Services in operations during hostilities with any foreign country or in a disturbed area and released as a consequence.
- The age relaxation for the candidates who had ordinarily been domiciled in the State of Jammu and Kashmir during the period from January 01, 1980 to December 31, 1989, is up to a maximum of five years.
- The age relaxation is up to a maximum of 10 years in the case of a candidate fall in any of these categories in –
(a) Low Vision
(b) Hearing Impaired (Partially deaf) and
(c) Locomotor disability (sub-category: Leprosy cured and Acid attack)
Education Qualification – The candidates who are applying for Indian Forest services must hold the Bachelor’s Degree in any of these subjects – Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology or a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering from any reputed University or any other Institute.
Number of Attempts allowed for Application
- Generally, a candidate is permitted to attempt this exam 06 times
- The candidates belonging to OBC category will get Additional three years and hence they can attempt the exam 09 times.
- Further, the candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe can attempt for the exam any number of time.
- The General category candidate who falls under Person with Benchmark disability will get 09 attempts.
Physical Standard – The candidate must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Forest Service Examination, 2018 as per regulations set by the authority.

Exam Pattern Of IFS 2019
For doing the preparation candidates must know about the exam pattern as well as a syllabus for preparation because this helps the candidates to know about the subject, section details of the examination. From the exam pattern candidates got to know about exam duration, number of paper, question types etc. From below candidates can check the detailed exam pattern of preliminary, mains, interview test.
Preliminary Examination – Preliminary Examination will consist of 2 paper i.e. paper 1 and paper 2.
- Exam Mode – Offline
- Examination Language – English and Hindi
- Types of Questions – Objective type
- Duration of Each Paper – 02 hours
- Paper-1 General Studies (The marks of this Paper-1 is counted to get selected for the Mains exams).
- Paper-2 C-SAT Civil Services Aptitude test (The candidate is required only to qualify in this paper by scoring 33% of the marks).
Main examination: The main examination will be written the examination and will consist of six papers. The paper I will be of General English will carry 300 Marks & Paper II will be of General Knowledge and carries 300 Marks, and Paper III will be combined Any two subjects to be 200 marks.
Personality Test: The object of the Interview is to test the personal suitability of the candidate for the Service.
IFS Answer Key 2019
At first for the preliminary examination answer key will be released. Answer Key helps the candidates in calculating the marks and from it, the candidates can also predict the chance of qualifying the examination. For prelims and mains examination, the separate answer key will be released. Final answer key will be taken into consideration for calculating the marks of the candidates.
Selection Process Of IFS 2019
The candidates who will fill the application form on time will be called for appearing in the preliminary examination. The candidates who will qualify the prelims examination by scoring minimum passing marks will be selected for appearing in the mains examination. The candidates who will qualify the mains examinations will be finally called for the final round that is Interview. The candidates who qualify the final round will be finally recruited for the applied post.
IFS Result 2019
For each stage of the examination separate result will be declared. At first result for the preliminary exam will be declared. The result will be declared on the official website. IFS Result 2019 will be purely based on the candidate’s performance and it will contain the name and roll number of the qualified candidates. After the conduction of the final round, the final result will be declared by the UPSC.
