The UPSC Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination 2026 e-Admit Card has not been issued as of 27 October 2026; the only document on UPSC's IFoS (Main) 2026 page is the time table for papers from 22 to 29 November 2026. Under the IFoS 2026 rules, eligible candidates get the e-Admit Card on the last working day of the week before the examination, on upsconline.nic.in only. The Prelims stage of this cycle was the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination of 24 May 2026, whose e-Admit Cards were uploaded on 15 May 2026.

Who will get the IFoS Mains 2026 e-Admit Card?

Only candidates on the Prelims result of 15 June 2026: 1046 candidates were shortlisted for the Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination 2026 against 80 vacancies. That notice says every qualified candidate must log in to upsconline.nic.in during the post-result window, update or reconfirm details and submit the Application Form "to enable the Commission to generate e-Admit Card"; anyone who did not is not allowed into the further stages. The same window collected the Mains fee of Rs.200 (Female, PwBD, SC and ST candidates exempt), scribe details and cadre preferences. The IFoS 2026 notice fixes this window at ten days after the Prelims result.

How is the e-Admit Card issued, and what should you check?

  • Portal: upsconline.nic.in. No admit card is sent by post or e-mail.
  • Scribe changes: candidates who changed their scribe seven days before the exam get the e-Admit Card three days before the exam.
  • Not received? If it has not arrived three days before the exam, contact UPSC at once; the Facilitation Counter answers in person or on helpdesk 011-24041001. If UPSC hears nothing at least three days before the exam, non-receipt is the candidate's own responsibility.
  • Errors: check the card carefully and report discrepancies to UPSC immediately. The name may be abbreviated for technical reasons. If you download more than one e-Admit Card, use only one of them.
  • Not a clearance: an e-Admit Card does not mean your entries have been accepted; UPSC verifies eligibility against original documents only after a candidate qualifies for the Mains.

Exam-day rules for IFoS Mains 2026

  • The Mains 2026 time table has two sessions a day, 9.00 AM to 12.00 Noon and 2.30 PM to 5.30 PM. General English and General Knowledge are on 22 November 2026; the optional papers follow, with no paper on 24 November 2026 (gazetted holiday).
  • Reach the venue at least 30 minutes before each session; no late entry is allowed. Face authentication is mandatory, along with identity verification and frisking.
  • Carry the photo ID whose details you gave in the application: Aadhaar, Voter Card (EPIC), PAN, Passport, Driving Licence or another State/Central Government photo ID.
  • Mobile phones (even switched off), pagers, smart watches, pen drives, cameras and Bluetooth devices are banned, and there is no safe-keeping at the venue. Breaking this rule can bring a ban from future examinations.
  • Scientific non-programmable calculators are allowed in these conventional papers; a programmable calculator counts as unfair means, and lending calculators in the hall is not permitted.
  • All Mains papers are answered in English. Marks are deducted for handwriting that is not easily legible, and any mark that could reveal your identity can lead to a deduction or the script not being evaluated.

Interview e-Summon Letter

Candidates who clear the Mains written part get a 15-day window to update details and upload proof of their degree; otherwise candidature is cancelled and no e-summon letter is issued. In the IFoS 2025 cycle, the Mains result of 24 February 2026 set the window from 27 February to 13 March 2026 (6:00 P.M.). It said no paper summon letters are issued, and candidates unable to download theirs were to contact [email protected]. Those interviews were held from 6 to 15 April 2026, at UPSC's office in Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi.

IFS admit card release in past cycles

IFoS candidates sit the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, so the Prelims e-Admit Card is the CS (Preliminary) one.
