MPSC Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Each MPSC exam has its own pattern. Most share a common shape — a screening Preliminary exam followed by a Main exam — but they differ in the papers, the final stage and the subject focus.

Rajyaseva / State Services

Prelims — two objective papers of 200 marks each (General Studies and a CSAT / aptitude paper), with negative marking. Mains — a descriptive written examination across language, essay and General Studies papers. Interview — a personality test. Confirm the current paper list and marks on the official syllabus, as MPSC has recently moved the Mains to a descriptive format.

Group B (Non-Gazetted) Combined

A single combined objective Prelims screens for all three posts, followed by a post-specific objective Mains. The final stage differs by post — PSI has a Physical Test and Interview, while STI and ASO are selected largely on written marks.

Group C Combined

A combined objective Prelims is followed by a post-specific Mains, with a typing/skill test for the Clerk-Typist post. There is generally no interview. The exact qualification differs by post — check the specific advertisement.

Syllabus
