RPSC RAS Selection Process

RPSC RAS selects candidates through three successive stages.

Stage 1 — Preliminary examination

A single objective paper used only to screen candidates. Those above the category-wise cut-off are shortlisted for the Mains; the Prelims marks are not carried forward.

Stage 2 — Main examination

Four descriptive papers for 800 marks, all counting towards the merit. Candidates are shortlisted for the Interview on the Mains result.

Stage 3 — Interview

A personality test of 100 marks. The final merit list is prepared from the Mains and the Interview (800 + 100), and posts are allotted by rank and preference, subject to reservation.
