SSC CGL 2018 Exam – Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is going to release the admit card for the Combined Graduate Level Tier 1 exam at ssc.nic.in. The application forms for the SSC CGL were filled form May 05, to June 07, 2018. The candidates who applied online will get their admit card for Tier 1 examination online. The date for Tier-I examination has not been announced yet. This examination is conducted for the recruitment of  Ministries/Department posts. Candidates who wish to apply for the posts can do it by giving SSC CGL Exam after their graduation. Desirous candidates can apply for the exam on or before its last date. Staff Selection Commission will hold the Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2018 for filling up Group “B” and Group “C” posts in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. The dates of Tier-I of CGL Examination will be notified on SSC’s website very soon.

Educational Qualification

The candidate who wants to apply for the SSC CGL should have the Graduation degree from any recognized university in India.

  • a citizen of India, or
  • a subject of Nepal, or
  • a subject of Bhutan, or
  • a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the January 01, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit: There is a different age limit for different posts. And relaxation is also applicable to the age limit. Age limit will be reckoned as on August 01, 2018.

For Post for which age limit is 20-27 years He/ she must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1991 and not later than 01.08.1998
For Post for which age limit is 18-27 years He/ she must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1991 and not later than 01.08.2000
For Post for which age limit is 20-30 years He/ she must have been born not earlier than 02.08.1988 and not later than 01.08.1998

  • Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/ Secondary Examination Certificate only will be accepted by the Commission for determining the age and no subsequent request for change will be considered or granted.

Physical Fitness: After satisfying all the criteria the candidate has to satisfy the physical requirement.

Application Form of SSC CGL 2018

SCC released the application form for the SSC CGL Exam 2018 on its official website. The application forms were released online only. The candidate had to apply online for the examination. Willing and Eligible candidates applied for the examination. At first, the candidates had to register themselves on the official website. After that, they can fill the application form. After filling the application form candidates had to submit the application fee. The direct link to the application form was also available on the “Application Form” page.

Admit Card for SSC CGL

After successful completion of the application process, SCC will release the admit card for Tier-I examination on its website. The aspirant, who will succeed to submit the application form on time will get their admit card. The admit card is an important document for the purpose of the examination. Tier-I Examination Scheme

  • This Tier is a Computer Based Test.
  • In CBT all the questions will be of Multiple Choice Type (MCQs).
  • Candidates will have 60 minutes to solve the question paper.
  • VH/ OH (afflicted with Cerebral Palsy/ deformity in writing hand- Pl will get 80 minutes.
  • Each question carries 2 marks.
  • Negative marking of 0.5 marks will be implemented.

Tier-II Examination Scheme

  • Tier II is also a Computer Based Test which will have 500 questions of 800 Marks.
  • Candidates will have 120 minutes to solve the question paper.
  • The VH/CP candidates will get extra time. VH and CP suffering candidates will get 160 minutes to solve the paper.
  • In this Tier, Section I, III, and IV will have questions of 2 marks each.
  • In Tier-II, there will be negative marking of 0.25 for each wrong answer in Paper-II (English Language and Comprehension) and of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I, Paper-III and Paper-IV.

  • Candidates will also have to appear for a Descriptive paper in Hindi or English Language.
  • Duration of the exam will be 60 minutes.
  • VH/ OH (afflicted with Cerebral Palsy/ deformity in writing hand- Pl) : 80 Minutes
  • But for VH and candidates suffering from CP, it has been extended up to 80 minutes.

Answer key of SSC CGL 2018

SCC will release the answer key, after the successful compilation of the exam. The examination will take place in four tiers. The third tier will be the descriptive type and the fourth tier will be skill based test. So answer key for tier-III & IV will not be released. SSC will release the answer key for the only Tier-I & Tier-II examination. The Board will publish a separate answer key for each tier. Candidates can check answer key through a login. The candidates will able to access the answer key by submitting the Roll Number, Password, and Date of Birth. The candidates can cross-check their marked answers with the answer key. Result of SSC CGL 2018

As the SSC CGL examination will hold in four Tier. So SSC will release the result of each tier separately. The result for the SSC CGL 2018 will be released online on the official website.  The results will be in PDF format.

Merit list will be prepared on the basis of overall performance of candidates in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III Examinations. Final selection of candidates, in each category, will be made on the basis of aggregate marks scored by them in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III examinations and preference of posts exercised by them. Once the candidate has been given his/ her first available preference, as per his/ her merit, he/ she will not be considered for any other option. Candidates are, therefore, advised to exercise preference of posts very carefully. The option/ preference once exercised by the candidates will be treated as FINAL and IRREVERSIBLE. Subsequent request for change of allocation/ service by candidates will not be entertained under any circumstances/ reasons.

Selection Process

Based on the marks scored in Tier-I Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Tier-II Examination. The Commission may fix separate cut-offs for Paper-III (i.e. for the post of JSO), PaperIV (i.e. for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer and Assistant Accounts Officer) and forPaper-I+Paper-II (all other posts). The Commission shall have the discretion to fix minimum qualifying marks in each component of the Tier-I Examination.

Based on the aggregate performance in Tier-I and Tier-II Examinations, candidates will be shortlisted to appear in Tier-III (Descriptive Paper). The Commission may fix minimum qualifying marks in each Paper of Tier-II.

The candidates who score minimum qualifying marks, as fixed by the Commission, in Tier-III Examination will be eligible to appear in Skill Tests and Document Verification. Based on the aggregate performance in Tier-I, Tier-II and Tier-III Examinations, candidates will be shortlisted to appear in Document Verification and Skill Tests i.e. Computer Proficiency Test (CPT) and Data Entry Skill Test (DEST). Skill Tests are qualifying in nature. If a candidate does not appear in Skill Test or fails to qualify the Skill Test, he/ she will not be eligible for the posts where CPT/ DEST are required.
