No SSC CGL 2026 result has been declared yet: Tier-I is still running until 30 October 2026, and its result will shortlist candidates for Tier-II, which the Notice of Examination tentatively placed in December 2026 (dates not yet notified). The latest completed cycle is CGLE 2025. Its final result was declared on 14 May 2026, with 15,118 candidates provisionally shortlisted against 15,118 vacancies.

What does each SSC CGL result decide?

Tier-I result: shortlist for Tier-II

The Tier-I result is a write-up PDF on ssc.gov.in with category-wise cut-offs and roll-number lists in three separate lists. These are for Junior Statistical Officer (List-1), Statistical Investigator Grade-II (List-2) and all other posts (List-3). You appear only in the lists for posts you applied for. Marks are normalised under SSC's procedure of 2 June 2025. Candidates must also meet the minimum qualifying marks: 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS and 20% for all other categories. In the CGLE 2025 Tier-I result, the List-1 cut-off for UR was 153.46108.

FRTA after Tier-II: first allocation

Before allocation, SSC collects an online Option-cum-Preference form. A candidate who does not submit preferences in time is not considered for any post. Merit is drawn from Tier-II only. For most posts, it uses the aggregate of Sections I and II of Paper-I, subject to qualifying the Computer Knowledge Test and DEST. JSO and SI Grade-II add Paper-II, and AAO/AAcO add Paper-III. The result is the First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA). For CGLE 2025, this was declared on 8 April 2026.

Sliding / identity verification, then the final result

SSC keeps no waiting list. Instead, its sliding mechanism asks FRTA-shortlisted candidates to attend Identity Verification in person and choose FIX or FLOAT. For CGLE 2025, slot booking ran from 8 to 10 April 2026 (to 11 April 2026, 5 PM, for the Delhi venue). Verification was held from 13 to 22 April 2026 in the Northern Region and 13 to 18 April 2026 elsewhere. Anyone absent was left out of the final result. The final result recorded 10,165 FIX, 4,501 FLOAT and 452 new allocations against absentees.

How are ties broken?

Under the CGLE 2026 Notice, a tie on Tier-II scores for posts other than AAO, JSO and SI Grade-II is broken in this order:

  1. Marks in Section I of Paper-I
  2. Date of birth, with the older candidate placed higher
  3. Alphabetical order of names

For AAO/AAcO, Paper-III marks come first. For JSO/SI Grade-II, Paper-II marks come first.

When are SSC CGL marks and scorecards available?

Marks are shown in the candidate login for a fixed window only. For CGLE 2025, Tier-I marks were open from 9 January 2026 to 8 February 2026. Tier-II marks and final keys were open from 17 June 2026 to 16 July 2026. For CGLE 2024, Tier-I marks were open only from 16 December 2024 to 31 December 2024. SSC asks candidates to take a printout, because the marks are not provided after the window closes.

What happens after the final result?

Document Verification is done by the user departments after the final result, not by SSC. Posts such as Inspector (Central Excise), Inspector (Examiner), Inspector (Preventive Officer), and Sub-Inspector in CBI and NIA have physical and medical standards. These are tested by the department after final selection. If you fail them, you may not be considered for any other post. If you score above the cut-off but are not carried forward, you must write to the Regional Office within two months of the result, or two weeks before the next stage, whichever is earlier. If a selected candidate hears nothing within one year of the final result, they must contact the user department.
