- If the final marks of two candidates are the same, the candidates getting more marks in the total of four Economic/Statistic papers of 800 marks plus viva voce of 200 marks is ranked higher for the services.
- If in some cases, all the subject marks of both the candidates are equal, then the candidate who is older may be ranked higher.

After both the stages are completed i.e written exam and interview round, the final cut off is released by the conducting body on its official web portal. The candidates qualifying minimum overall cut off in order to qualify for the exam. UPSC IES ISS Selection Process
