The IES/ISS 2026 e-Admit Card was uploaded on upsconline.nic.in on 12 June 2026 for the written examination held from 19 to 21 June 2026, so that stage is over. Written-qualified candidates now need the e-Summon Letter for the Personality Test, which UPSC starts on 2 November 2026. The next e-Admit Card will be for IES/ISS 2027, which UPSC's 2027 calendar shows starting on 18 June 2027.

How was the IES/ISS 2026 e-Admit Card issued?

The IES/ISS 2026 notice said e-Admit Cards go out on the last working day of the week before the exam, on https://upsconline.nic.in. Candidates who changed their scribe up to seven days before the exam get theirs three days before it. No admit card is sent by post or email. A candidate without an e-Admit Card by that last working day was to contact UPSC at once, in person at the Facilitation Counter or on Helpdesk 011-24041001; a candidate who had not written in at least three days before the exam was solely responsible for the missing card.

UPSC's press note of 12 June 2026 confirmed the upload and said no paper admit card would be issued. Keep the printout: it must be preserved till the final results of IES/ISS 2026 are declared, and that final result is still to come.

What to check on the e-Admit Card

  • Name, Photograph and QR Code must be correct. Report any discrepancy to UPSC by email at [email protected].
  • The notice warns the name may be abbreviated for technical reasons, and no one may sit the exam on another candidate's card.
  • If the photograph is not clear, bring a photo identity card and two passport size photographs, one for each session, for the undertaking given at the venue.
  • An e-Admit Card does not mean UPSC has cleared your candidature: documents are verified only after you qualify the written examination.

Exam-day rules for IES/ISS 2026

  • Two sessions a day. Descriptive papers ran 9.00 A.M to 12.00 Noon and 2.30 P.M to 5.30 P.M; the objective Statistics-I and Statistics-II papers on 20.06.2026 ran two hours each, 9.00 A.M to 11.00 A.M. and 2.30 P.M to 4.30 P.M.
  • Entry closed 30 minutes before each session, at 08.30 AM and 02.00 PM. UPSC advised arriving preferably one and a half hours early for face authentication, identity verification and frisking.
  • Carry the e-Admit Card printout and the Photo ID whose number is on it, for each session. Candidates who have changed their name must show a Government-issued Photo ID in the changed name.
  • Allowed in: the e-Admit Card print, pen, pencil, identity proof, water in a transparent bottle and self-photographs. Use a black ball point pen for the OMR sheet and attendance list.
  • Non-programmable scientific calculators are allowed in descriptive papers only; no calculator of any type in the objective papers.
  • Banned: mobile phones (even switched off), smart or digital watches, other IT gadgets, books and bags, with no safe-keeping at the venue. A simple wrist watch is allowed.

e-Summon Letter for the IES/ISS 2026 Personality Test

The interview call letter is separate from the admit card. UPSC's interview notice of 15 October 2026 says the Personality Tests begin on Monday, 2 November 2026, and that e-Summon Letters will be available shortly for download from https://upsconline.nic.in. Requests to change the date or time will not ordinarily be entertained.

The IES schedule lists 40 roll numbers and the ISS schedule lists 94, with interviews from 2 to 5 November 2026 in a forenoon session at 0900 hrs and an afternoon session at 1300 hrs. The e-Summon Letter was generated only for candidates who logged in and finally submitted the application form during the window from 11.08.2026 to 25.08.2026, which was mandatory even with nothing to change.

Bring original certificates of age, educational qualification, community and disability, where applicable. A candidate without them will not be allowed before the PT Board and gets no travel allowance. Travel reimbursement is limited to Second/Sleeper class train fare (Mail Express).
