Meghalaya TET Result 2019 will be announced by Directorate of Educational Research and Training. The state level teacher eligibility test was held on January 31, 2019. However soon after that it was reported that the paper was leaked. Solved question paper of Meghalaya TET 2019 was shared on social media much before the exam. Date of declaration of Meghalaya TET 2019 result: Since February it has been reported that an investigation is ongoing in the matter. As on date of updating this article in June, there is no update from officials. Therefore now, result of MTET shall be announced only after probe report.

As per reports, over 28,000 candidates appeared for Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test (MTET) 2019 held at Shillong, Tura, Jowai, Williamnagar, Nongpoh, Nongstoin, Baghmara, Khliehriat, Amlarem, Sohra, Mairang, Mawkyrwat, Resubelpara, Dadenggiri, Ampati. Meghalaya TET 2019 Paper Leak

  • On early morning of January 31, 2019, pictures of MTET 2019 were shared on social media platforms.
  • Even though authorities conducted exam as per schedule.
  • Very soon, reports of paper leak came out.
  • Paper leakage was reported in Garo Hills region, for which, FIR was lodged in Tura police station in West Garo Hills district.
  • Police sought help of cyber experts to look into the matter.
  • Lakhmen Rymbui, Meghalaya education minister, also confirmed that they were looking into the matter.
  • Then, an SIT (Special Investigating Team) headed by Meban Synrem was appointed to look into the paper leak.
  • Principal Secretary, Education Department, told reporters that they were examining how paper could have been leaked when question papers were opened before candidates in exam hall, and before that, all question papers were sealed.
  • As in the first week of February, the investigation was to take 12 days time.
  • Process of paper checking and other post-exam related activities have been kept in abeyance until report of investigating team.
  • Candidates have demanded re-test to be held for Meghalaya Teacher Eligibility Test 2019.
  • As per preliminary reports, paper leak was only at one centre. Papers were shared through WhatsApp.

Meghalaya TET Cut Off 2019

In accordance with govt norms, candidates must obtain a minimum qualifying marks in order to be considered eligible for applying for teacher recruitment of classes I to VIII. Qualifying marks are same for both paper 1 and paper 2. Candidates may note that there is no subject wise cut off, there is an overall cut off. Cut off, or qualifying marks, are as follows.

Candidates who claim reservation and get qualified as per its cut off, should have relevant documents ready to prove claim of reservation.

Meghalaya TET Result 2019 – Calculation Of Marks

Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT) is responsible for all processes upto declaration of results. Therefore after exam, it looks after ensuring that OMR sheets of all candidates are scanned and their answers recorded in a computerized manner. Recorded answers are then compared to official answer key of HP TET 2019 to award marks. Candidates may take a look at the exam pattern and marking scheme below to understand how they get marks.

Therefore as per marking scheme, marks obtained in exam equals total number of correct answers marked by candidate.

How To Check Meghalaya TET 2019 Result?

  • First, go to official website.
  • Then click on result of Meghalaya TET 2019 link.
  • After that a page shall open asking you to log in.
  • Enter roll number, same as in Meghalaya TET 2019 Admit Card, and other details.
  • Login.
  • Then you can see result on screen.

MTET Certificate And Validity

  • Authorities in charge of such process shall prepare a list of candidates who qualified Meghalaya TET 2019.
  • Then they send this list to Government for approval.
  • Director, Educational Research and Training, Shillong, will sign and issue a certificate to concerned candidate saying that he/she is eligible for recruitment whenever there is any advertisement for vacancy in Primary and Upper Primary School Teacher Recruitment in Meghalaya.
  • Result of MTET 2019 shall be valid for 2 years, unless state government extends it, upto a maximum period of 7 years, or until next MTET is conducted, whichever is earlier.

Scope of Meghalaya TET 2019

Meghalaya TET 2019 is the eligibility test for all candidates who wish to apply for recruitment as elementary school teachers (classes 1 to 8) and for teachers appointed to teach classes 1 to 8 after the NCTE notification dated 23.08.2010. This applies to schools referred to in clause (n) of section 2 of RTE Act 2009. They include following types of schools:

  1. School established, owned or controlled by appropriate Government or a local authority, referred to in sub-clause (i) of clause (n) of section 2 of RTE Act.
  2. Aided school receiving aid or grants to meet whole or part of its expenses from appropriate Government or local authority, referred to in sub-clause (ii) of clause (n) of section 2 of RTE Act.
  3. Unaided school not receiving any kind of aid or grant to meet its expenses from appropriate Government of local authority, referred to in sub-clause (iv) of clause (n) of section 2 of RTE Act.

Eligibility for Meghalaya TET 2019

It is important to realize that although eligibility should be checked before applying, it is equally important at the time of result. This is because in most cases, authorities accept candidature to appear in exam provisionally on basis of details mentioned on Meghalaya TET 2019 Application Form. Therefore at the time of applying for teacher recruitment, and when one finally gets selected there, then their eligibility is further verified. Educational Qualification

For Paper 1 Class 12 with 50% and 2 year D.El.Ed. OR
Class 12 with 45% and 2 year D.El.Ed. as per NCTE. OR
Class 12 with 50% and 4 year B.El.Ed. OR
Class 12 with 50% and 2 year D.Ed. (Special Education). OR
Graduation and 2 year D.El.Ed. OR
Graduation with 50% and 2 year B.Ed. OR
Pursuing any of the Teacher Education Courses recognized by NCTE or RCI.
For Paper 2 Graduation and 2 year D.El.Ed. OR
Graduation with 50% and 1 year B.Ed. OR
Class 12 with 50% and 4 year B.El.Ed. OR
Class 12 with 50% and 4 year BA/BSc Ed or BA Ed / BSC Ed. OR
Graduation with 50% and 1 year B.Ed. OR
Pursuing any of the Teacher Education Courses recognized by NCTE or RCI.

Age Limit

  • Candidate should not be more than 32 years old as on first day of month that DETR released the advertisement.
  • Those who belong to SC / ST / DA category can be upto 37 years old.
  • If candidates are in government service, then they should have first entered service within age limit above and will have to obtain No Objection Certificate from office or department in order to appear in exam.
  • For candidates employed in aided schools and contractual teachers, age limit of 35 years (relaxable by 5 years for SC / ST) on first day of year as required, including such candidates employed with unaided schools, is exempted.

Note that qualifying the MTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligible criteria for appointment.
