TN TRB BEO Answer Key 2023: Tentative Key and Objections

The latest TN TRB BEO answer key is the tentative key for the Block Educational Officer 2023 examination held on 10 September 2023; no later BEO recruitment has been notified, so there is no newer key. The key gives the answer option for each question of Set A, numbered from 1 to 180, and TRB has also hosted the question paper marked DEE 2023 / A.

How the key maps to the paper

The 2023 question paper has a Part A and a Part B. Under the notification, Part A (the Compulsory Tamil Language Eligibility Test) had 30 questions for 50 marks, and Part B had 150 multiple-choice questions of one mark each. In the key, questions 1 to 30 are Part A (questions 1 to 20 carry 2 marks each and 21 to 30 carry 1 mark each) and questions 31 to 180 are Part B (1 mark each, no negative marking). Part A is qualifying at 40% (20 marks), while ranking is done only on Part B marks.

For Part B, the minimum qualifying mark is 75 for other categories, 67.5 for SC and 60 for ST. TRB draws the certificate verification list in the ratio 1:1.25 on OMR examination marks, following communal rotation.

How objections to the BEO key are handled

• TRB publishes the tentative key on its website after the examination through its Objection Tracker.
• Objections must be filed in the prescribed proforma through the dedicated link within the set period; mail and written representations are not entertained.
• Objections are referred to a Subject Expert Committee, and a revised and final answer key is hosted on the website as per the Board's decision. No further objections on the original key are entertained after that.
• For deleted questions, marks are not awarded.
• Expert details, book details, page numbers and publishers behind each decision are not disclosed.

Using the key with the 2023 result

TRB released the 2023 marks on 9 November 2023 in two lists. The Part A list (maximum 50 marks) gives Part A marks against each roll number, while the Part B list (maximum 150 marks) was published only for candidates who qualified in Part A and for PWD candidates.
