Are you eligible to apply? – You are eligible if you are a citizen of India (or countries recognized by Govt. of India), your age is between 18 to 33 years (relaxation for reserved category candidates), and you must have done class 10 along ITI / Act Apprenticeship.

RRB Assistant Loco Pilot Application Form Fee
Candidates will have to pay the prescribed fee as per their community/category detailed below:
- Rs. 250 if you belong to SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWD / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically Backward Class category.
- Rs. 500 if you belong to any other category.
Mode of Payment: The fee can only be paid online through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI Services. Processing charges and GST as applicable are chargeable from the candidate (in addition to the examination fee) by the concerned Bank/Payment Gateway Integrator. There will be no option to pay fee through any other mode.

- Recent, clear colour passport size photograph (against a plain white background) of the candidate in JPEG image (size 30 to 70KB) – without wearing dark glasses and/or cap. Note: Candidates must have at least 12 (twelve) copies of the same photograph for future use during the recruitment process.

The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the detailed Centralized Employment Notice (CEN No. 01/2024) for the Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) recruitment, and the application process has begun. If you’re aspiring to become an Assistant Loco Pilot, here’s a step-by-step guide on how to fill out the RRB ALP 2024 Application Form:
Step 1: Download and Read CEN No. 01/2024
Candidates are advised to download the detailed CEN No. 01/2024 and carefully read it to understand the eligibility criteria and other essential information.
Step 2: Apply Online
Candidates must apply ‘ONLINE’ through the official websites of RRBs specified in the detailed CEN. Keep in mind that applications in any other mode will not be accepted. Ensure that you meet the prescribed eligibility criteria for the post you are applying for.
Step 3: Choose Your RRB
You can apply to only one RRB, and only one application per candidate will be accepted for the notified post in this CEN. Submitting multiple applications will result in disqualification.
Step 4: Pay the Examination Fee
Candidates will have to pay the prescribed examination fee as per their category. There are different fees for various categories, and a part of it will be refunded after appearing in the 1st Stage Computer-Based Test (CBT).
- For all candidates (except specified categories): Rs 500/-
- For candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities, or Economically Backward Class (EBC): Rs 250/-
Note: Only candidates who appear for 1st Stage CBT will get a refund of their examination fee as mentioned above.
Step 5: Paying Examination Fee Online
The examination fee can only be paid online through Net Banking, Credit Card, Debit Card, or UPI Services. Keep in mind that processing charges and GST, as applicable, will be charged in addition to the examination fee. No other payment mode is accepted.
Step 6: Prepare Scanned Documents
Before filling the application, ensure you have the following scanned documents ready:
- Recent, clear color passport size photograph (size 30 to 70KB)
- Scanned JPEG image of candidate’s signature in running handwriting (size 30 to 70KB)
- SC/ST Certificate (only for candidates requesting free pass for train travel) in PDF format (up to 500KB)
Step 7: Create an Account
During the ONLINE APPLICATION, candidates will be asked to Create an Account. Fill in the required details carefully, as corrections will not be allowed once the account is created. Create a strong PASSWORD with a combination of capital letters, small letters, special characters, and numbers. Details filled in the ‘Create an Account’ form, including mobile number and Email ID, cannot be modified later.
Step 8: Fill Out the Application Form
Log in using your registered mobile number/E-mail ID and password. Choose the RRB, post, and zone within the chosen RRB. Your personal details entered during account creation will be pre-populated and cannot be edited. Enter the remaining personal and educational qualification details as required.
Step 9: Upload Scanned Images
Upload scanned images of your photograph, signature, and SC/ST certificate (if applicable) as per the specified specifications. Ensure that your photograph is a clear passport size picture against a plain white background.
Step 10: Select Trade and Post Preference
Select the trade for Part B of CBT-2 and exercise your order of post preference. Complete the declaration. Preview your application, and use the “Edit” option if needed, before finally submitting it.
Step 11: Fee Payment Confirmation
After successfully completing the application and fee payment, a confirmation page will be generated. Note down the registration number printed on this page for future correspondence.
Step 12: Reset Your Password
If you forget your password, you can reset it by clicking on the “Forgot Password” option. Enter your registered Email or mobile number and date of birth. The revised password will be sent to your registered Email ID.

RRB ALP Application Form Correction
Try not to make any mistake while filling the application form. But if you do, then you can edit minor details by paying Rs. 250.
- You cannot change State, email, and mobile number.
The fee is to be paid by all the candidates and the facility to correct data can only be used twice. The modification is to be done before the last date of application. After that, no correction will be allowed.
The process to do modification is as below:
- Go to the “ONLINE/E-Application” link.
- Click on ‘Modify Application’
- Login by Submitting Registration Number and Password’
- Pay the fee amount via online and offline modes
- Make the required changes.
- Take out the print of the application form.
