No Station Master or Traffic Assistant posts are notified this cycle. The RRB-wise and zone-wise split, with community-wise reservation, is in Annexure B of each CEN, and these vacancies may still increase or decrease. You apply to one RRB only and rank posts and zones within it. More than one application, whether to different RRBs or to the same RRB, gets all of them rejected and leads to debarment.
RRB NTPC 2026 eligibility
Graduate posts need a degree from a recognised university. Undergraduate posts need Class 12 (+2 stage) with at least 50% aggregate; the 50% condition is waived for SC, ST, PwBD and ex-servicemen candidates and for those with a higher qualification. You must hold the qualification by the closing date: candidates awaiting final results cannot apply.
Age is counted as on 1 January 2027: 18 to 33 years for Graduate posts and 18 to 30 years for Undergraduate posts. For UR candidates that means born between 2 January 1994 and 1 January 2009 (Graduate) or between 2 January 1997 and 1 January 2009 (Undergraduate).
| Category | Upper age relaxation |
|---|---|
| SC / ST | 5 years |
| OBC (NCL) | 3 years |
| PwBD (UR and EWS / OBC / SC and ST) | 10 / 13 / 15 years |
| Ex-servicemen (UR and EWS / OBC / SC and ST) | 3 / 6 / 8 years after deducting service |
| Railway staff with 3 years' service (UR and EWS / OBC / SC and ST) | Up to 40 / 43 / 45 years of age |
Vision standards differ by post: A-2 requires 6/9, 6/9 without glasses, A-3 allows glasses up to 2D, and B-2 allows glasses up to 4D. Candidates who have had Lasik or similar eye surgery are not eligible for A-2 or A-3 posts, and anyone found unfit for the posts they opted for gets no alternative appointment.

If you created an account for any RRB CEN in 2024, 2025 or 2026, log in with it. Otherwise create one, carefully, because its details, including mobile number and email, can never be changed, and neither can the chosen RRB. Verifying identity through DigiLocker or Aadhaar is advised. Your photo is captured live by webcam or phone against a plain white background. You choose the exam language from English, Hindi and 13 regional languages. The application helpline is [email protected], 9592001188 / 01725653333 (10:00 AM to 5:00 PM on working days).
RRB NTPC selection process
- CBT-1 (screening): 100 questions in 90 minutes: General Awareness 40, Mathematics 30, General Intelligence and Reasoning 30.
- CBT-2: 120 questions in 90 minutes (50, 35 and 35), for 15 times the community-wise vacancies of each RRB, shortlisted on normalised CBT-1 marks.
- Document verification and medical examination: candidates equal to the vacancies (1:1), on normalised CBT-2 marks.
1/3 mark is deducted per wrong answer, and the minimum qualifying marks are 40% (UR, EWS), 30% (OBC-NCL, SC) and 25% (ST). The typing skill test has been dispensed with for the clerk-cum-typist posts in both CENs; typing proficiency is assessed after joining and can delay confirmation or promotion. With no Station Master post, the CENs list only CBT-1, CBT-2 and DV/medical, so there is no aptitude test (CBAT). Ties are broken in favour of the older candidate.
RRB NTPC salary
Initial basic pay under the 7th CPC is ₹35,400 at Level 6 (Chief Commercial cum Ticket Supervisor), ₹29,200 at Level 5 (Goods Train Manager, Junior Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Senior Clerk cum Typist), ₹21,700 at Level 3 (Commercial cum Ticket Clerk) and ₹19,900 at Level 2 (Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk). Only a stipend is paid during training. Appointees are liable for service in the Railway Engineers' unit of the Territorial Army, and a request for transfer to another railway is not registered until 5 to 10 years of service, so choose your RRB with care. Full terms are in CEN 06/2026 and CEN 07/2026.
