State Bank of India, the exam conducting body, compiles merit list of candidates based on marks obtained in exam. A number of candidates as fixed by bank, is to be called for next stage of selection. Taking that into consideration along with minimum requirements for recruitment, SBI Clerk Cut Off 2016 is decided. Candidates called for mains exam is approximately 20 times number of vacancy in each category. For SBI Clerk Recruitment 2016, by that point, around 4 lakh candidates were called. Then, on basis of SBI Clerk Result 2016 of Mains, around 3 times number vacancy in each category are to be called for interviews if interviews are held. To prepare final merit list, SBI will consider marks scored in mains exam (Phase II) and interview (Phase III). Preliminary exam marks are only taken for qualifying Phase I. In case interview is not held by SBI, then most probably bank will only use marks of mains exam for final selection of candidates for SBI Clerical Cadre Recruitment 2016.
