SSC JE Cut Off

Last verified 31 Jul 2026

The SSC JE cut off is the minimum normalised score required to be shortlisted for the next stage, published category-wise inside the SSC result write-up. Figures below are taken from the official write-up for the cycle named in the table.

Cut off marks are normalised

Because the examination runs across several shifts with different papers, SSC normalises scores before applying the cut off. That is why published cut offs carry five decimal places, and why they cannot be compared directly against a raw score out of the paper total.

What moves the cut off

  • the number of vacancies reported by user departments
  • the number of candidates who appeared
  • the difficulty of the shifts, after normalisation
  • category-wise reservation

Qualifying marks are a separate floor

Do not confuse the two. The qualifying minimum is UR 30%, OBC and EWS 25%, all other categories 20%. Clearing that does not shortlist you โ€” you must also reach the cut off for your category, which is usually far higher.
