📢 Latest SSC JHT Answer Key Updates
Straight from the conducting body — each link opens the official document.
SSC released the tentative answer key for CHT (JHT) 2026 Paper-I on 21 September 2026, and challenges closed at 11 PM on 24 September 2026. The final key is published only after the Paper-I result, which is still awaited. Keys cover Paper-I, the objective computer-based paper; Paper-II is a descriptive translation and essay paper.
How was the CHT 2026 Paper-I key challenged?
According to the write-up of 21 September 2026, the tentative keys were published along with each candidate's question paper cum response sheet. You logged in on ssc.gov.in with your Registration Number and Password. Representations were accepted from 21 September 2026 (23:00 hours) to 24 September 2026 (23:00 hours). The fee was ₹50 per question, reduced from the earlier ₹100. Under the Notice, challenges are accepted only online within the window, and the fee is non-refundable. Letters and emails are not considered.
The challenge module uses one question and option order for everyone in a shift, so it may differ from your screen, but your marked answers show exactly. A saved question paper is only for personal use and self-analysis. Print your response sheet before the window closes, because SSC does not supply it later.
In the CHT 2025 cycle, the steps were:
- Log in, go to "Answer Key Challenge" and click "Click Here".
- Read the colour-coded response sheet: green for a correct choice, red for a wrong one, yellow for the actual correct answer, grey for unattempted questions.
- Choose the question and a complaint type, describe the issue, and upload a scanned image as supporting proof if required.
- Click "Proceed for payment", pay, and press "Submit".
How are challenges decided?
Experts examine every representation before the key is finalised, and SSC's decision is final. SSC's Challenge/Objection Management guidelines of 10 April 2026 apply to CHT 2026. Under those guidelines, a question that is ambiguous, has no correct option or is out of syllabus is dropped, and its marks go to all candidates. Where more than one option is correct, any correct option scores. There is no re-evaluation or re-checking of scores.
How do you calculate your Paper-I score?
Paper-I has two parts:
- Part-I, General Hindi: 100 questions, 100 marks
- Part-II, General English: 100 questions, 100 marks
Each question carries 1 mark and each wrong answer costs 0.25 marks, so your score is correct answers minus 0.25 × wrong answers. If Paper-I runs in more than one shift, scores are normalised under SSC's procedure of 2 June 2025. To reach Paper-II, you need at least 30% if UR, 25% if OBC/EWS and 20% for other categories, and you must also clear the category-wise cut-off. Paper-I still counts after that: final merit takes 50% of your Paper-I score and 100% of your Paper-II marks (out of 200).
What happens after the tentative key?
The final key is used to process the Paper-I result. For CHT 2025, the Paper-I result came on 4 November 2025. The final keys, response sheets and marks were uploaded on 30 December 2025, and marks could be checked until 29 January 2026. For CHT 2024, the result came on 14 February 2025, with the final keys and marks on 3 March 2025.
