The SSC CHT (JHT) 2026 Paper-I result has not been declared yet; it will shortlist candidates, category-wise, for Paper-II (Descriptive). For the previous cycle, CHT 2025, SSC declared the Paper-II result for the CRPF Sub-Inspector (Hindi Translator) post on 4 June 2026. It said the final result for that post and all other posts would come after the PET/PST.
What does each CHT result decide?
Paper-I result: shortlist for Paper-II
SSC publishes a write-up PDF with category-wise cut-offs and a roll-number list. You need at least 30% if UR, 25% if OBC/EWS and 20% for other categories, then the category-wise cut-off. In the CHT 2025 Paper-I result of 4 November 2025, 6332 candidates appeared and 3642 were shortlisted for Paper-II. In CHT 2024, 2145 candidates were shortlisted on 14 February 2025.
Paper-II and final merit
Paper-II (200 marks) has one passage to translate from Hindi to English and one from English to Hindi, plus an essay in each language. For final merit, SSC counts 50% of your Paper-I score and 100% of your Paper-II marks, and it may set separate category-wise cut-offs for each paper. Ties are broken by Paper-II marks first, then by date of birth (older first), then alphabetically.
Post preferences and final result
Before the final result, SSC collects post and department preferences online. You are not considered for a post you did not list, or for any post if you submit no preferences in time. For CHT 2024, preferences were taken from 9 June 2025 to 14 June 2025, and 1736 candidates who submitted them were considered. The final result on 25 July 2025 recommended 272 candidates against 272 vacancies. For CHT 2026, allocation follows the sliding-mechanism FRTA described in SSC's notices of 3 March 2026 and 8 April 2026.
The CRPF Sub-Inspector route (CHT 2025)
The CHT 2025 Paper-II result of 4 June 2026 shortlisted 1722 candidates who had opted for CRPF for a PET/PST conducted by CRPF. PwBD candidates were excluded because the post is not identified as suitable for them. A candidate who fails the PET/PST loses only the CRPF post and stays in the running for the other posts. The PST was scheduled for 17 August 2026.
When can you see your marks?
Marks appear in the candidate login (Registered ID and Password) for a fixed window only:
- CHT 2025 Paper-I: 30 December 2025 to 29 January 2026
- CHT 2024 Paper-I: 3 March 2025 to 4 April 2025
- CHT 2024 Paper-II, with allocation details: 27 August 2025 to 12 September 2025
After the final result, SSC also publishes the scores and rankings of unsuccessful candidates. It leaves out anyone who opted out of disclosure in the application form.
What happens after the final result?
Document Verification is done by the User Departments after the final result. Physical and medical standards are checked by the departments, and a post once allocated is not changed if you fail its standards. Only men are eligible for any Border Roads Organisation vacancies. SSC keeps no waiting list. If you hear nothing within one year of the final result, contact the User Department. Appointees serve two years on probation.
