There is no SSC CHSL 2026 answer key yet: Tier-I only begins on 30 November 2026 and runs to 31 December 2026, and the tentative key is published after the exam. In the last cycle, CHSLE 2025 Tier-I ended on 30 November 2025 and its tentative key followed on 8 December 2025. In CHSLE 2024, Tier-I ended on 11 July 2024 and the key came on 18 July 2024.

How do you see and challenge the SSC CHSL key?

SSC uploads each candidate's response sheet with the tentative key on ssc.gov.in. You log in with your Registration Number and Password and use the answer key challenge link. The question and option order in the challenge module may differ from your exam screen, because it uses one sequence for everyone in a shift. Your own answers are still shown exactly. Challenges are accepted only online and only within the published window. The response sheet and key are withdrawn when the window closes, and SSC does not entertain individual requests later.

The CHSL 2026 Notice (para 13.3) sets the fee at ₹50 per question, non-refundable. That is the same rate charged for both CHSLE 2025 keys. CHSLE 2024 keys cost ₹100 per question, before SSC's notice of 22 August 2025 cut the fee to ₹50 pending a refund mechanism.

How are challenges decided?

CHSL 2026 is covered by SSC's Challenge/Objection Management guidelines of 10 April 2026. They matter for CHSL because Tier-I Parts II, III and IV are set in 13 regional languages besides Hindi and English. You can view the questions in Hindi and English as well, but you can mark answers only in the medium chosen in your application form. If a question is wrong in one language version, it is judged separately for that language. For example, it may be discarded only for Punjabi-medium candidates.

  • An ambiguous, no-correct-option or out-of-syllabus question is discarded, and its marks go to all candidates.
  • If more than one option is correct, full marks go to anyone choosing a correct option; a wrong option still gets negative marks, and unattempted gets zero.
  • Only the merit of a challenge counts, not how many candidates raise it.

How do you calculate your SSC CHSL score?

Tier-I has four parts of 25 questions, each part worth 50 marks (200 in total). That is 2 marks per correct answer, with 0.50 deducted per wrong answer, so your raw score is 2 × correct − 0.5 × wrong. In Tier-II, Section I has 60 questions for 180 marks, and Section II has 60 questions (40 English, 20 General Awareness) for 180 marks. Section III, the Computer Knowledge Test, has 15 questions for 45 marks. Each of these carries 3 marks per question and a deduction of 1 mark per wrong answer.

Because Tier-I runs in many shifts, scores are normalised under SSC's procedure of 2 June 2025, and the normalised scores set merit and cut-offs. To qualify, you need 30% if UR, 25% if OBC/EWS and 20% for all other categories. There is no re-evaluation or re-checking at any stage.

What happens after the tentative key?

SSC experts review the challenges and the final key is used for the result. The final key is published only after the result is declared. For CHSLE 2025 Tier-I, the result came on 27 February 2026. The final key, response sheets and marks followed on 19 March 2026, viewable until 9 April 2026. The CHSLE 2025 final result write-up of 7 October 2026 says the Tier-II final keys and detailed marks will be uploaded "in due course".
