SSC Selection Post Selection Process
Last verified 31 Jul 2026
SSC Selection Post selection runs through the stages below, each of which must be cleared in sequence.
- Computer Based Examination
- Skill Test or Physical Test where prescribed for the post code
- Document Verification
Selection Post works differently from other SSC exams
There is no single merit list. Each post code has its own cut off, decided by the vacancies and applicants for that specific post. Candidates may apply for multiple post codes they are eligible for, and the exam is grouped into three levels — Matriculation, Higher Secondary (10+2) and Graduation and above — with separate results published for each.
Document Verification
Original certificates are checked against everything declared in the application — qualification, category, age and any relaxation claimed. Certificates must be in the prescribed formats and dated on or before the cut-off date in the notice.
Final merit
Merit is prepared from the marks that count for this examination, and candidates are allotted posts by merit-cum-preference against the reported vacancies.
