The SSC Selection Post Phase-XIV/2026 CBE result has not been declared yet. When it comes, it will shortlist candidates for document scrutiny, post category by post category, rather than give a final merit list. The CBE was held from 16 to 26 September 2026, and its tentative key came out on 9 October 2026. The previous phase, Phase-XIII/2025, had its CBE result on 5 February 2026, in three separate level-wise write-ups.
What does the CBE result decide?
Normalised CBE scores are used to shortlist candidates for each post category separately. You must first clear the minimum: 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS and 20% for other categories. Shortlisting then follows the number of vacancies in that post category:
- 1:30 for up to 05 vacancies
- 1:15 for more than 05 vacancies, subject to a minimum of 150
- All qualifying PwBD, PwBD-Others and ESM candidates for vacancies reserved for them
Annexure-I of each write-up gives post-category-wise cut-offs. In the Phase-XIII Graduation-level result, 35,055 candidates were shortlisted from 10,21,850 completed applications. In Phase-XII, 29,561 Graduation-level candidates were shortlisted from 10,30,119 applications.
Document upload and scrutiny
Shortlisted candidates must upload self-attested copies of their qualification, experience, category and age documents on ssc.gov.in. For Phase-XIII, the window ran from 11 February 2026 (1100 Hrs) to 3 March 2026 (2300 Hrs). Documents had to be uploaded separately for each post category, and a candidate who skipped one was dropped from it. From Phase-XIII onwards, SSC's notice of 3 March 2026 sets the sequence:
- SSC emails the uploaded documents to the User Department's nodal officer, and the department scrutinises them.
- The Regional Office posts a Tentative Acceptance/Rejection List; representations go directly to the User Department.
- The department prepares the Final Acceptance/Rejection List, which the Regional Office uploads.
- A skill test is held where the post requires one, followed by document verification by the User Department.
- The DV report goes to the Regional Office, which declares the result or select list for that post.
How are ties broken?
- Total normalised marks in the CBE
- Marks in Part A, then Part B, then Part C
- Date of birth, with the older candidate placed higher
- Alphabetical order of names
When are marks disclosed?
Selection Posts have their own rule on marks. Under the Phase-XIV Notice, selected candidates' scores appear on the Regional Office website only when the final result for that post category is declared. Everyone else's CBE marks come out on ssc.gov.in only after results for all advertised post categories are declared. Even then, they wait until the last reserve list kept for any post has lapsed. Accordingly, the Phase-XIII and Phase-XII final-key notices said scorecards and normalised marks would not be disclosed at that stage.
The Final Result or Select List is declared post category by post category, and nominations are made only against the advertised vacancies. After it, SSC forwards the selected candidates' dossiers to the User Ministry or Department, which must accept them.
