SSC released the Phase-XIV/2026 Selection Posts tentative answer key on 9 October 2026, and challenges were accepted until 4 PM on 12 October 2026. The key covers all three levels: Matriculation, Higher Secondary (10+2) and Graduation and above. The final key is uploaded only after the CBE result, which had not been declared as of 27 October 2026.
How was the Phase-XIV key challenged?
According to the write-up of 9 October 2026, you logged in on ssc.gov.in with your Registration Number and Password to see your response sheet and the tentative key. Representations ran from 9 October 2026 (04:00 PM) to 12 October 2026 (04:00 PM), at ₹50 per question or answer challenged. Late representations and challenges sent in any other way are not entertained. The challenge module shows one question and option order for everyone in a shift, but your own answers appear exactly as marked. The saved question paper is for personal use only, so print your response sheet before the window closes.
What changed with Phase-XIII?
The Phase-XIII/2025 key of 26 September 2025 introduced a two-way split of questions:
- Deemed Challenged Questions: SSC flagged these itself as needing review. The challenge option was disabled, and candidates did not pay for them.
- Challengeable Questions: no apparent error was found in SSC's review, but candidates could still challenge them at ₹50 each.
In that cycle, you reached the key from the "My Application" tab and selected your level before clicking "Click Here". You could view your response sheet but not download or print it.
How are challenges decided?
SSC's Challenge/Objection Management guidelines of 10 April 2026 apply to Phase-XIV. A question that is ambiguous, has no correct option or is out of syllabus is discarded, and its marks are added for every candidate. If more than one option is correct, choosing any of them earns full marks, while a wrong option still loses marks. Because the CBE is in Hindi and English, a translation error is judged separately for the language affected.
How do you calculate your Selection Post score?
Each level has one CBE with four parts of 25 questions and 50 marks each:
- Part A: General Intelligence
- Part B: General Awareness
- Part C: Quantitative Aptitude (Basic Arithmetic Skill)
- Part D: English Language (Basic Knowledge)
That makes 2 marks per question, with 0.50 deducted for each wrong answer, so your raw score is 2 × correct − 0.5 × wrong, out of 200. Scores from multiple shifts are normalised under SSC's procedure of 2 June 2025. In the Phase-XIII result, the minimum was 30% (60 marks) for UR, 25% (50 marks) for OBC/EWS and 20% (40 marks) for other reserved categories. SSC may also set different minimum standards for each component of the CBE.
What happens after the tentative key?
The final key is used to evaluate the CBE. It is published after the result together with the question paper. For Phase-XIII, the result came on 5 February 2026. The final keys and question papers followed on 20 March 2026 and stayed open until 19 April 2026. SSC added that, under Para 19.14 of the Notice, scorecards and normalised marks would not be disclosed at that stage.
