The answer key of the 41st Maharashtra State Eligibility Test (MH-SET), held on 25 October 2026, has not been posted yet. As of 27 October 2026, the Answer Keys page of setexam.unipune.ac.in lists keys only up to the 15 June 2025 exam. Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU), the state agency for Maharashtra and Goa, conducts MH-SET as the eligibility test for Assistant Professor. Its 2026 prospectus says the exact date for the provisional keys will be shown on the SET website after the exam, and that the keys are likely to stay up for two to three days.

The 41st SET was first advertised for 26 July 2026. A notice of 20 July 2026 set it for 27 September 2026, because 6 September, the date announced earlier, clashed with CTET. A corrigendum of 13 September 2026 then moved it to 25 October 2026, citing the UPSC exam calendar and Anant Chaturdashi.

How do you challenge the MH-SET provisional key?

The SET July 2026 prospectus lays down these rules:

  • What is displayed: the provisional answer key(s) and the question paper each candidate attempted, on the SET website.
  • Fee: Rs. 200 for each question challenged, paid online as a processing fee. It is not refunded.
  • Valid challenges: only paid challenges made through the key challenge link within the set time are considered. Challenges without justification or evidence, filed late, or sent any other way are rejected.
  • Outcome: SET's decision is final, and SET does not tell candidates individually what happened to their challenges.

Last cycle shows how this worked in practice. For the 40th SET (15 June 2025), a public notice of 25 June 2025 put the interim key online on 26 June 2025, open until 6.00 p.m. on 2 July 2025. Evidence had to be attached as PDF files, and each candidate could submit feedback online only once. Once you went to payment, you could not change the number of questions challenged. Payment was by credit card, debit card or net banking only.

How do you calculate your MH-SET score?

  • Marks: under the examination scheme, Paper I has 50 compulsory questions for 100 marks in one hour, from 10.00 a.m. to 11.00 a.m. Paper II has 100 questions for 200 marks in two hours, from 11.30 a.m. to 01.30 p.m. Every question carries two marks, and there is no negative marking.
  • Your copies: candidates may take home the test booklets of both papers and the duplicate carbonless copy of their OMR sheets at the end of the exam. Score yourself from those.
  • Booklet codes: each paper has four test booklet codes, A, B, C and D. Keys are issued booklet by booklet, and Mathematical Sciences Paper II has its own keys. In Mathematical Sciences you must answer either Sections I and II or Sections I and III. An OMR sheet with answers from both Section II and Section III is rejected.
  • Reading the final key: in the 2025 final key, "9" means no option is correct or the question is wrong. Letters a to k stand for questions with more than one correct option. For example, "a" means both A and B.
  • Qualifying: under the result criteria you need at least 40 per cent aggregate across both papers in the Open and EWS categories, and 35 per cent in the reserved categories. That only makes you eligible. Total qualifying slots equal 6% of the candidates who appeared in both papers, and are shared out by category and subject.

What happens after the final MH-SET key?

  • Subject experts examine every challenge. A final answer key is then displayed and declared, and the result is compiled on its basis.
  • No grievance about the answer keys is entertained once the result of SET July 2026 is declared. There is no re-evaluation or re-checking either.
  • The marks of all candidates are uploaded on the SET website after the result is approved. The state agency does not issue marks sheets.
  • Any legal dispute must be raised within 30 days of the result, in the courts of Maharashtra and Goa.
