UPSC has published a provisional answer key for CAPF AC 2026 Paper-I (General Ability and Intelligence), the objective paper of the 19 July 2026 exam. The key PDF is laid out series by series and covers 125 questions carrying a maximum of 250 marks. Paper-II (General Studies, Essay and Comprehension) is a conventional written paper, so it has no key.
How could candidates challenge the CAPF AC 2026 key?
- Where: the Online Question Paper Representation Portal (QPRep) on upsconline.nic.in, under Examinations > Representations on Question Paper. The 2026 notice allows representations both on the questions and on the answer key of the objective paper.
- When: five days, from the third day after the exam date to 6:00 p.m. of the seventh day. UPSC's QPRep notice illustrates this with an exam on 1 March and representations from 4 March to 8 March. remove (keep the preceding rule sentence and the 1 March -> 4 to 8 March example). Optionally reword the rule as the notice does: 'from the 3rd day of the Examination date to 06:00 PM of the 7th day'.
- How not to: representations by email, post or hand are rejected, nothing is accepted after the five days, and UPSC does not correspond about them.
The rules changed this year. For CAPF AC 2025, the notification gave seven days starting the day after the exam, through upsconline.gov.in/miscellaneous/QPRep/, and covered only the questions asked.
How to calculate your Paper-I score
Paper-I has 125 questions for 250 marks, so each question is worth two marks. For every wrong answer, one-third (0.33) of the marks for that question is deducted. Marking more than one option counts as wrong, and a blank costs nothing. Your score is two marks for each correct answer minus one-third of two marks (about two-thirds of a mark) for each wrong answer.
The score matters in two steps. Each paper has its own minimum qualifying marks, fixed by the Commission. Paper-I is evaluated first, and Paper-II (200 marks) is evaluated only for candidates who reach the Paper-I minimum. In Paper-II, only the essay may be written in English or Hindi; précis and comprehension are in English only.
What happens after the key?
The written result of 25 August 2026 listed by roll number the candidates qualified for the Physical Standards and Physical Efficiency Tests, and a name-wise list followed on 8 September 2026. Candidates who did not qualify can view their marksheet only after the final result, which comes after the interviews. It stays online for 30 days and is opened with roll number and date of birth. A printed copy can be requested within thirty days of the marks going online, with a self-addressed stamped envelope. The final merit list adds the written marks and the 150-mark interview.
