Notice regarding extension of last date of Assam Police Platoon Commander Application Form

The commission has extended the last date of submmission of application form till June 15, 2020. Those candidates who have applied before the lockdown need not to submit the fresh application form.

Assam Police Platoon Commander Recruitment 2020 Eligibility Criteria

To appear for the written examination the candidates must meet the following eligibility requirements

Nationality: Candidates must be an Indian Citizen, ordinarily Assam native.

Age Limit: Candidates not be above 38 years and must be under 18 years as of January 01, 2020 (i.e. born on or before January 01, 2002 and after January 01, 1982)

• The candidate must be a graduate from a recognized college / institutions affiliated with a recognized university in the field of arts, science, commerce or equivalent.
• Must have NCC ‘B’ Certificate or Home Guards Training Certificate

Physical Standard:

(i) Height (Minimum)

(ii) Chest (Only for men)

(iii) Weight: Proportionate to height according to medical norms.

Medical Standards: Candidates must not have squinted eyes and should have a high vision of color. He / she must be free from any physical disabilities and free from illnesses such as diabetes, hernia, piles, respiratory problems or any other diseases.

Eye Sight: Distant vision should be 6/6 for at least one eye and not poorer than 6/9 for the other eye without correction. Near vision is expected to be normal.

Selection Procedure of Assam Police Platoon Commander Recruitment 2020

Applicants whose applications are found to be correct in all respects will be asked for a written test. The exam date and center for the written test will be informed later. The Chairman reserves the right to change the location of the test and there will be no representation, etc. in this regard. Before entering the examination center, the biometrics of each candidate will be done.

The written test will be OMR based and of 100 marks. The time duration of the written exam is of 3 hours. Each question carries 1 mark and there will negative marking of ½ mark for each wrong answer. The questions will be set out in three parts:

1. Aptitude, Logical reasoning, comprehension
2. Matters relating to History and Culture of Assam and India
3. General Knowledge.

Physical Standard Test

Upon finding the correct call letter and identity, the candidates will be asked to appear in the PST. The Physical Standard Test is not carrying any marks. The measurement of the weight, height, and chest (only for males) of the candidates shall be taken after which the candidate will be inspected by a medical officer for a preliminary check-up such as :

• vision test
• colour blindness test
• varicose vein
• knocked knee
• flat foot
• physical deformities

Note: Varicose vein is considered to be a temporary disqualification

Once the candidate has cleared the PST, he/she will have to appear in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET).

Phyical Efficiency Test

The Physical Efficiency Test is to carry 40 marks. It consits of two event which includes Race ad Long Jump:

1. Male candidates – 1600 meters race completed 450 seconds, 335 cm (minimum) Long Jump
2. Female candidates – 800 meters race completed within 240 seconds, 244 cm (minimum) Long Jump

3 chances to be provided and the longest valid jump rounded to the nearest cm shall be considered for the award of the marks.
