CG TET

CG TET — the Chhattisgarh Teacher Eligibility Test — is conducted by the Chhattisgarh Professional Examination Board (CG Vyapam) on behalf of the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Chhattisgarh. Held under Section 23 of the Right to Education Act, 2009, it is a qualifying test for teaching posts in the state's schools — clearing it certifies that you meet the standard to be considered for a teaching post, and is separate from the recruitment that fills vacancies.

The latest cycle, officially CG TET 2025 (Vyapam session code TET26), was conducted on 1 February 2026. Two separate papers are held: Paper I for those who intend to teach classes I to V, and Paper II for classes VI to VIII. A candidate who wishes to teach at both levels sits both papers.

CG TET 2025 schedule

Paper I (classes I–V) was held in the morning session (9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.) and Paper II (classes VI–VIII) in the afternoon (3:00 p.m. to 5:45 p.m.), across 20 district-headquarter centres.

Fee

General ₹350, OBC ₹250, and SC / ST / Divyang (PwD) ₹200. Chhattisgarh local-resident candidates who actually appear in the examination have their fee refunded to the bank account from which it was paid.

Qualifying marks

Each paper carries 150 marks. A candidate qualifies on scoring 60% (General) or 50% (SC / ST / OBC non-creamy-layer / Divyang). The qualifying certificate is valid for life.

CG TET qualifies you to apply — it does not appoint you

Qualifying CG TET does not by itself give any right to appointment. It is one of the eligibility conditions for teacher recruitment in Chhattisgarh; the vacancy is filled through a separate selection process. Successful candidates receive an eligibility certificate; others receive only a marksheet.
