Notification for OTET 2018 will be released by Board of Secondary Education, Odisha. The Odisha Teacher Eligibility Test (OTET) 2018 (1st) will be held on the scheduled date. Candidate could appear in either paper I or paper II . This test will be conducted for the teachers who wants to get the Teacher Eligibility Test Certificate. OTET 2018

Application form for OTET 2018 will be released online. Eligible teaching aspirants could apply online at www.bseodisha.ac.in and pay application fee through SBI Collect. Step by step instructions to apply will be given below. OTET admit card 2018 will be issued online only to those candidates who will fill the application form on time.

OTET Eligibility Criteria

OTET will be applicable to all candidates who will possess requisite academic and training qualifications with requisite percentage of marks and to all candidates pursuing the final year of the teacher training courses before the date of publication of advertisement for conducting OTET who will aspire to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in the schools of the State Govt., private aided schools and private unaided schools in the State of Odisha.

However, the candidates intending to seek employment as teachers in private unaided schools shall also have the option of appearing at Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) conducted by Central Govt. through CBSE, if they so desire. The candidates after being qualified in OTET can also apply for further improvement.

Persons having the following minimum qualifications shall be eligible for appearing in OTET.

Category-A ( Paper- I )

  • Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education(CT). OR
  • Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education). OR
  • Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education/ 2-year Diploma in Special Education.

Category-B ( Paper- II )

  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.). OR
  • Graduation with 50% marks and 1-year B.Ed.(Special Education). OR
  • Higher Secondary (+2 or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A.Ed./ B.Sc.Ed.

Provided that relaxation of 5% minimum qualifying marks in +2 or graduation level, as the case may be, shall be allowed to the candidates belonging to SC, ST,OBC/ SEBC category.

OTET 2018 Application Form

  • Applications shall be received through ONLINE mode only on visiting the website
    www. bseodisha.ac.in.
  • The payment of fee shall be done through SBI Collect either in online or offline mode
  • The step by step instructions for online registration, applicability and eligibility of candidates, qualifying criteria, syllabus and its structure, instructions for physical handicapped candidates and format for continuing certificate will be available in the website www.bseodisha.ac.in.
  • A candidate can apply for only one paper. The candidate eligible to apply under
    B (Paper-ll), shall not be eligible to apply under Category-A (Paper-l). In case the candidate
    register under both the papers, his/ her candidature in both the papers shall be rejected.
  • Under no circumstances, the last date for submission of application forms shall extended.

OTET 2018 Admit Card

The candidates can download their Admit Cards from the website www.bseodisha.ac.in by entering their registration number and email ID. The change of examination centre is not permissible. The hard copy of the admit cards shall not be issued by the B.S.E., Odisha.

All the questions will be Multiple Choice Questions, each carrying one mark, with four alternatives out of which one answer will be correct. Questions will be set to assess candidate’s ability to analyze, interpret and apply the subject matter. There will be no negative marking.

OTET 2018 Result

Qualifying Marks

  • A candidate who will score 60% or more in the TET Examination will be considered as TET pass.
  • Candidates belonging to SC, ST, SEBC/ OBC, Physically Handicapped securing scores 50% may be considered as TET Pass.
  • The TET score will be given weightage in the recruitment process.
