The OTET 2026 admit card has served its purpose: the Board of Secondary Education (BSE), Odisha released it from 17 June 2026 on bseodisha.nic.in, and the examination was held on 5 July 2026. Keep your copy, because the OTET 2026 result search asks for the application number and roll number "as per Admit Card".
How did the OTET 2026 admit card date change?
The exam date moved more than once, and the admit card date with it:
- Notification 833 (23 March 2026): exam on 29 May 2026, admit cards from 15 May 2026.
- Press release of 22 May 2026: exam on 28 June 2026 instead of 21 June 2026, with admit cards available from 17 June 2026 on the BSE website.
- Later press release: exam on 5 July 2026 instead of 28 June 2026; candidates who had already downloaded the admit card did not need to download it again.
The timings stayed the same throughout: Paper-I from 9.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. and Paper-II from 2.00 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.
What is on the OTET admit card?
The admit card carries your Application/Registration number, in the format OTET-26-XXXXXX, and a roll number for each paper. A candidate who took both papers has two roll numbers — the result page tells you to use the Paper-I roll number for Paper I and the Paper-II roll number for Paper II.
Check the personal details on it against your records. On the OTET 2026 portal, date of birth, mobile number and e-mail are locked once you register, and the Board does not accept requests by e-mail or phone to change submitted data. Errors were instead handled through Notification 2331 of 14 August 2026: a correction window from 17 to 24 August 2026, a fine of ₹200 per candidate paid at the cash counter of the Board's Head Office, and original records such as the HSC certificate and caste certificate to be produced at the Conf.-I Section. Technical problems go to [email protected], quoting your application ID and roll number.
OTET exam-day rules at the centre
- Each paper has 150 multiple-choice questions of one mark, lasts 2½ hours and has no negative marking.
- Non-language papers are bilingual, in Odia and English. Language I is your choice of Odia, Hindi, Telugu, Urdu or Bengali; Language II is English for everyone.
- The Board's centre forms treat carrying a mobile phone, book, notebook, printed paper or handwritten material into the venue as unfair means: the candidate signs an undertaking and the material is seized.
- Blind or orthopaedically disabled candidates who are unable to write may use a scribe (helper writer). The scribe's class and school are recorded, the scribe signs an undertaking, and the candidate declares that the scribe is not related to them.
- The Board's squad and observer report forms record the gate checking of candidates at each centre.
