OTET Answer Key 2026: Provisional Key, Challenge, Past Dates

The OTET 2026 answer key is out: BSE Odisha posted the provisional keys for the 5 July 2026 examination, together with the online challenge application, on 23 July 2026, and the result followed on 2 September 2026. The keys are on the Board's OTET portal at bseoexams.org (OTET-2026 answer keys); each key sheet is headed "PRE-FINAL" and carries the exam date.

Which OTET 2026 key should you open?

• Paper-I (all languages) — one file, with keys printed set by set (Sets A, B, C and D) for every Language I option: Odia, Hindi, Urdu, Telugu and Bengali.
• Paper-II (Social Science) — for candidates who took the Social Studies option.
• Paper-II (Math & Science) — for the Mathematics and Science option.

How to work out your OTET score from the key

Each OTET paper has 150 multiple-choice questions of one mark each with no negative marking, so your score is the number of your answers that match the key for your set. Paper I has five 30-question areas: Child Development and Pedagogy, Language I, Language II (English), Mathematics and Environmental Science. Paper II has the first three areas at 30 questions each plus 60 questions in either Mathematics and Science or Social Studies. In each subject area, 20 questions are on content and 10 on pedagogy.

A score of 60% or more makes you "TET pass"; candidates from the SC, ST, SEBC and Physically Handicapped categories pass at 50% or more.

How do you challenge the OTET answer key?

For 2026, the answer-key page states four conditions: the published key is provisional; only eligible candidates may submit challenges, through the online portal; challenges without successful payment are not considered; and the Board's decision after expert review is final and binding.

The previous cycle's notice shows how the process runs. Under Notification 3076 of 26 December 2025, for OTET 2025:

• the fee was ₹500 per response challenged, and candidates could upload authentic documents in support;
• the window ran from 29 December 2025, 11.00 a.m., to 4 January 2026 midnight, and the notice said it would not be extended;
• only online applications were accepted — not e-mail, post or personal delivery;
• the full fee per response was refunded to the candidate's savings bank account if the challenge was accepted;
• challenges went to the Board's Question Analysis Committee, whose decision was final, and the result was processed on the final keys.

What happens after the key?

For OTET 2026, the result was declared on 2 September 2026. On the same portal, candidates who did not qualify can view their OMR copy, and qualified candidates download a digital certificate. In the 2025 cycle, the Board posted the scoring keys, the OMR download link and the digital certificate link on 12 February 2026, alongside the result.
