OTET Exam Pattern & Syllabus
Each OTET paper has 150 multiple-choice questions for 150 marks, four options per question, over 2 hours 30 minutes. In each subject area, 20 questions are set from the content and 10 from its pedagogy.
Paper I — Category A (classes I to V)

Standard and syllabus
Paper I questions are set on the topics of the prescribed syllabus for classes I to V, and Paper II on the syllabus for classes VI to VIII, in line with NCTE guidelines. The full official OTET syllabus, section by section, is available as a free PDF below.
