How the 2nd Grade Teacher papers are set

The exam has two objective papers — Paper I (General Knowledge, including Rajasthan GK, current affairs and educational psychology) and Paper II (the concerned subject) — and both must be qualified, with negative marking. There is no interview. The “GK” file in each year is Paper I; the subject files are Paper II.

Each RPSC exam has its own pattern; the RPSC syllabus page sets out the RAS, 2nd Grade Teacher and SI patterns side by side.

How to use them

1. Sit one paper in a single timed attempt before you revise anything, to find out where you actually stand.
2. Mark it honestly and note which sections cost you the most marks per minute spent.
3. Revise that section, then sit a different year’s paper to check whether the gap closed.

State commission papers lean heavily on the state’s own history, geography, polity and current affairs. That portion is where a state exam differs most from a national one, and it is the part general preparation books cover worst.
