RPSC Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Each RPSC exam has its own pattern. Most share a common shape — a screening Preliminary exam followed by a Main exam — but they differ in the papers, the final stage and the subject focus.

RAS / RTS (State & Subordinate Services)

Prelims — one objective paper (General Knowledge & General Science) of 200 marks, qualifying only, with one-third negative marking. Mains — four compulsory descriptive papers of 200 marks each (800 total), including a compulsory General Hindi & General English paper; there is no optional subject. Interview — 100 marks. Final merit is on the Mains plus Interview (900 marks).

Senior Teacher Grade II (2nd Grade)

Two objective papers — Paper I (General Knowledge, including Rajasthan GK, current affairs and educational psychology) and Paper II (the concerned subject) — both of which must be qualified, with negative marking. There is no interview.

Sub Inspector (SI) — Police

An objective written examination (General Hindi, and General Knowledge & General Science) is followed by a Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Standard Test and then an Interview. Physical standards (height, and events such as race and long jump) apply.
