RRB JE eligibility requires A Diploma or Degree in the relevant engineering discipline, which varies by post and is listed post-wise in Annexure A of the CEN. CMA posts require a science degree with the specified subject combination. Age limits are 18 to 33 years as on 01.01.2026.

Educational qualification

Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible to apply. The qualification must be complete on or before the closing date for applications — this is stated explicitly in the CEN and is a common cause of rejection.

Medical fitness
Medical standards are listed post-wise in Annexure A, and several JE posts fall in the B-class range rather than the stricter A-class applied to running staff.
Nationality
Applicants must be Indian nationals, or fall within the other nationality categories set out in the CEN.
