The RRB JE answer key for CEN 04/2026 CBT-I has not been released: the CBT-I was scheduled for 27 and 28 October 2026 (rescheduled to 2 November 2026 for candidates at four postponed Andhra Pradesh centres), and the key comes after the exam through a link on the RRB websites. The key is released through a time-bound link that shows each candidate the questions, their own responses and the answer keys, with an option to object. In the previous cycle, CEN 05/2025, the CBT-I was held on 19, 20 and 25 February 2026, and that link opened on 5 March 2026 at 16:00 hrs.

How the RRB JE objection window works

The objection notice for CEN 04/2026 has not been issued yet. The terms below are from the two CEN 05/2025 notices, for CBT-I and CBT-II:

  • You can object to questions, options and keys after viewing them.
  • Fee: Rs.50 plus applicable bank service charges per question.
  • Refund: if an objection is found correct, the fee is refunded after deducting bank charges, to the account you paid from.
  • Payment: RuPay or credit cards, UPI and net banking.
  • Procedure: the detailed steps are given inside the link on the RRB websites.
  • Deadline: nothing is entertained after the closing time, and the RRBs' decision on objections is final and binding.

The fee was also ₹50 per question for both CBTs of CEN 03/2024.

RRB JE marking scheme: how to calculate your score

CBT-I under CEN 04/2026 has 100 one-mark questions in 90 minutes (120 minutes for scribe-eligible candidates): Mathematics 30, General Intelligence and Reasoning 25, General Awareness 15 and General Science 30. One third of the marks for a question is deducted for each wrong answer, so your score is correct answers minus wrong answers ÷ 3. For example, 75 correct and 15 wrong gives 75 − 5 = 70 marks.

The minimum marks are 40% for UR and EWS, 30% for OBC (NCL) and SC, and 25% for ST, with up to 2 marks of relaxation for PwBD candidates if there are not enough of them for reserved vacancies. Clearing the minimum is not enough, because CBT-I is a screening test. Up to 15 times the community-wise vacancies of each RRB go to CBT-II, ranked on normalised marks, since the CBT runs in multiple sessions.

CBT-II has 150 questions in 120 minutes with the same negative marking: General Awareness 15, Physics and Chemistry 15, Basics of Computers and Applications 10, Basics of Environment and Pollution Control 10, and Technical Abilities 100. To compare candidates across exam groups, the RRBs convert CBT-II marks into a Merit Index. The qualifying mark of 40 maps to 350. The mean of the top 0.1% or top 10 candidates, whichever is larger, maps to 900.

What happens after the objection window

The RRBs decide on the objections and then publish the result. When the CEN 05/2025 CBT-I result came out on 8 May 2026, candidates could log in with their Registration Number and Date of Birth to see their score, their qualifying status and their question paper with the correct answer marked among the four options. The CBT-II result of 16 September 2026 kept the scorecard login open only up to fifteen days from the date of the notice.
