No RRB JE result has been declared for CEN 04/2026 yet: the CBT-I was scheduled for 27 and 28 October 2026 (rescheduled to 2 November 2026 for candidates at four postponed Andhra Pradesh centres), and its answer key and objection window come before any result. The previous cycle, CEN 05/2025, is at the document verification stage. Its CBT-II result and DV shortlist came out on 16 September 2026, and RRB Chandigarh held DV round 1 on 14 and 15 October 2026.
How the RRB JE result is declared, stage by stage
CBT-I result: shortlist for CBT-II
The CBT-I score is used only to shortlist for CBT-II. Up to 15 times the community-wise vacancies of each RRB are shortlisted on normalised marks, taking account of each candidate's post preferences. Each RRB publishes a PDF of roll numbers in ascending order, not in order of merit. Candidates shortlisted using a reservation benefit stay in that category for all later stages. For CEN 05/2025, RRB Chandigarh's CBT-I result listed 1629 roll numbers. It said the CBT-II city slip would come about 10 days before the exam and the e-call letter 4 days before.
CBT-II result: shortlist for DV and medical
DV shortlisting is based on normalised CBT-II marks, converted into a Merit Index so that candidates from different exam groups can be ranked together for a common post. The number shortlisted equals the number of vacancies. The CEN 05/2025 CBT-II result also gave the cut-off Merit Index score, and RRB Chandigarh shortlisted 108 candidates. If two candidates have equal marks, the older one ranks higher; if the age is also the same, the alphabetical order (A to Z) of the given name, not the surname, decides.
Scorecard
You view your score by logging in with your Registration Number and Date of Birth through the link on the RRB websites. For CEN 05/2025 the CBT-I login also showed the question paper with the correct answer marked. The CBT-II scorecard was available only up to fifteen days from the date of the result notice, so save a copy while it is live.
After the result: DV, medical and allotment
- Document verification: bring all original documents and two sets of self-attested photocopies, and upload your photo and signature before your DV date on oirms-ir.gov.in/rrbdv. Candidates absent at DV lose their candidature. Before its DV, CEN 05/2025 also asked shortlisted candidates to give their options for merged-category posts on rrbapply.gov.in.
- Medical examination: in CEN 05/2025, candidates were sent to a nominated Railway hospital on the day after DV and told to come prepared for two to four days. The only fee is the medical fee of Rs.24.
- Allotment: the RRB allots the Railway zone or production unit by merit, options, medical standard and vacancies, and recommends names. The offer of appointment comes from the Railway Administration.
