RRB Technician Eligibility

RRB Technician eligibility requires For Technician Grade I Signal, a three-year Diploma or Degree in Engineering in the relevant discipline. For Technician Grade III, Class 10 pass plus ITI in the notified trade, or a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship. Age limits are 18 to 33 years as on 01.07.2026 (18 to 30 years for certain posts).

Educational qualification
For Technician Grade I Signal, a three-year Diploma or Degree in Engineering in the relevant discipline. For Technician Grade III, Class 10 pass plus ITI in the notified trade, or a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship.
Candidates awaiting final results are not eligible to apply. The qualification must be complete on or before the closing date for applications — this is stated explicitly in the CEN and is a common cause of rejection.

Medical fitness
Most Technician posts carry the B1 standard; Track Machine posts require A3. Standards are listed post-wise in the CEN.

Applicants must be Indian nationals, or fall within the other nationality categories set out in the CEN.
