How to calculate your RRB Technician score
Each grade has one CBT of 100 questions in 90 minutes, and one third of a mark is deducted for each wrong answer. Your raw score is correct answers minus wrong answers ÷ 3. For example, 72 correct and 21 wrong gives 72 − 7 = 65 marks.
- Technician Grade I Signal (Level 5): General Awareness 10, General Intelligence and Reasoning 15, Basics of Computers and Applications 20, Mathematics 20, Basic Science and Engineering 35.
- Technician Grade III (Level 2): Mathematics 25, General Intelligence and Reasoning 25, General Science 40, General Awareness 10.
To be eligible you need 40% if you are UR or EWS, 30% for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and SC, and 25% for ST. PwBD candidates can get 2 marks of relaxation if there are not enough of them for reserved vacancies. Because the CBT ran in multiple shifts, the marks are normalised, and DV shortlisting is RRB-wise at 1:1 of the vacancies.
What happens after the objection window
The RRBs decide on the objections and then publish the result, which is directly the DV shortlist because there is no second CBT. In the previous cycle, CEN 02/2025, the CBT result lists of candidates shortlisted for DV were posted on 21 May 2026 for Technician Grade I and on 30 May 2026 for Technician Grade III. The number of posts has also changed: Corrigendum No. 1 of 16 October 2026 raised the Technician Grade III vacancies from 6234 to 7002; Technician Grade I Signal stays at 323.
