How to use these papers

1. Attempt a full paper in one timed sitting.
2. Score it with the real marking scheme applied — Tier-I: 0.50 mark deducted per wrong answer. Tier-II: 1 mark in Sections I, II and III (Section III is the Computer Knowledge Test).
3. Identify the weakest section and revise that first.
4. Repeat with another paper to check whether accuracy improved.

Why shift-wise papers matter

SSC runs each examination across many shifts with different papers, which is exactly why marks are normalised. Working several shifts gives a truer sense of the difficulty band than one paper.

Are SSC CHSL previous year papers available in Hindi?

Yes, for many sittings. Papers marked “in Hindi” are the Hindi-medium versions, and the Language column in the table shows which years have them.

Do these papers come with answers?

The PDFs are the question papers. SSC releases the tentative answer key with candidates’ responses on ssc.gov.in for a limited window after each exam; the SSC CHSL answer key page tracks the current cycle.

Which year should I start with?

The most recent sittings, because they are closest to the current Tier-I format of 100 questions for 200 marks in 60 minutes. Older papers may follow an earlier pattern, but their reasoning, arithmetic and English questions are still good practice.

Where can I take a full test in the current format?

Use the SSC CHSL model papers for timed practice once you have worked through a few real papers.
