CSIR NET Result December 2026: Score, Rank, Qualifying Rules

The Joint CSIR-UGC NET December 2026 result is not out: the exam is on 19, 22 and 27 December 2026, and NTA says the result date "will be intimated later on website". The latest cycle, June 2026, was declared in two steps: scores on 29 August 2026, then result and rank on 10 September 2026.

How is the CSIR NET result published?

NTA releases CSIR NET results in stages, each with its own notice on csirnet.nta.nic.in:

1. Scores: a press release of 29 August 2026 with subject-wise registration and attendance. In June 2026, 1,87,739 candidates registered and 1,50,057 appeared across five subjects.
2. Result and rank: the notice of 10 September 2026 uploaded the result and rank, which candidates can view, download or print from their score card.
3. Certificates: June 2026 certificates were notified on 25 September 2026.

The score card shows total percentile score and marks. The login asks for Application Number, Password and a security PIN, and its disclaimer says the score card and e-certificate are issued through DigiLocker, which candidates should keep for official purposes.

How does CSIR NET decide who qualifies?

• There is no separate cut-off for Part A, B or C; merit is drawn on the total of all three parts.
• The minimum benchmark is 33% for General, EWS and OBC and 25% for SC, ST and PwD/PwBD, for fellowship, Assistant Professor and Ph.D.-only alike.
• The number qualifying for JRF-NET, Assistant Professor and Ph.D. only is decided by the results committee.
• Results for the NFOBC, NFSC and NFPwD/NFPwBD fellowships are compiled and declared by their own nodal agencies, not in the CSIR NET result.

What each qualifying category gets

• JRF: a stipend of ₹37,000 per month for the first two years plus an annual contingent grant of ₹20,000. After two years, a fellow registered for Ph.D. can be upgraded to SRF at ₹42,000 per month, following an expert committee assessment.
• Assistant Professor: the bulletin says there is no end period for the validity of this qualifying certificate.
• Ph.D. admission: for categories 2 and 3, NET marks carry 70% weightage and the interview 30%, and the marks are valid for one year from the result.
• Candidates who applied while in the final year of their Master's must complete it with the required percentage within two years of the result, or within one year if they qualify for Ph.D. admission only.

After the result

Certificates are downloaded from csirnet.nta.nic.in; for problems, write to [email protected] or [email protected]. NTA keeps Joint CSIR UGC NET records for 90 days from the result, and no grievance about answer keys is entertained after the result.
