CTET Result 2026: December Exam Result Date & February 2026 Result

The result of the 22nd edition of CTET is not out: the exam is scheduled for 12 and 13 December 2026, and CBSE has not announced a result date. The previous edition, held on 7 and 8 February 2026, was declared on 30 March 2026, when 5,97,061 of the 23,24,625 candidates who appeared qualified (25.68%).

How is the CTET result published?

CBSE announces each result through a public notice on ctet.nic.in and asks candidates to check their result by logging in on the CTET website. The notice for February 2026 gave paper-wise figures: Paper I had 10,65,410 candidates appear and 3,58,937 qualify (33.69%); Paper II had 18,67,428 appear and 3,46,738 qualify (18.56%).

There is one result for each paper you take. Paper I counts for teaching classes I to V and Paper II for classes VI to VIII, so someone who wants both levels must appear in both papers.

What score do you need to pass CTET?

Under NCTE Notification No. 76-4/2010/NCTE/Acad dated 11 February 2011, a candidate who scores 60% or more is considered TET pass. Each paper has 150 one-mark questions with no negative marking. School managements may give concessions to SC, ST, OBC and differently abled candidates under their own reservation policy, and should give weightage to CTET scores in recruitment. The bulletin is clear that qualifying CTET "would not confer a right" to recruitment or employment.

Marksheet and certificate on DigiLocker

• Every candidate gets a CTET marksheet, and successful candidates also get an eligibility certificate, in their DigiLocker account.
• Both are digitally signed, legally valid under the IT Act, and carry an encrypted QR code that can be verified with the DigiLocker mobile app.
• CBSE creates DigiLocker accounts for all candidates who appeared and sends the login details to the mobile number registered with CBSE.
• The CTET qualifying certificate is valid for life for all categories. There is no limit on attempts, and a qualified candidate may sit again to improve the score.

Can you get your CTET result rechecked?

No. The bulletin says "There shall be no re-evaluation/re-checking of result", and no grievance about answer keys is entertained after the result. After the result you can ask for a photocopy of your OMR sheet with the calculation sheet for ₹500 per OMR by demand draft; for February 2026 the last date was 1 May 2026. CTET records, including OMR sheets, are kept only up to two months from the date of the result.

What happens after you qualify?

CTET applies to Central Government schools such as KVS, NVS and Central Tibetan Schools, and to schools of the UTs of Chandigarh, Dadra & Nagar Haveli, Daman & Diu, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Lakshadweep and NCT of Delhi. Unaided private schools may also consider it. Teachers appointed from 6 March 2012 to teach classes I to VIII in CBSE-affiliated schools must have passed CTET or a TET. Your eligibility is finally verified by the recruiting agency or appointing authority, and CBSE says it has verified certificates only through the QR code since 2015.
