Paper 1 or Paper 2?

Paper 1 is for those who want to teach classes I to V, and Paper 2 for classes VI to VIII. Download the paper for the level you are applying for; if you want both levels, practise both. The topics are on the UPTET syllabus page.

How to use them

1. Sit one paper in a single timed attempt before you revise anything, to find out where you actually stand.
2. Mark it honestly and note which sections cost you the most marks per minute spent.
3. Revise that section, then sit a different year’s paper to check whether the gap closed.

Teaching eligibility papers repeat their structure closely from year to year — the child development and pedagogy section in particular tends to test the same themes in different words, so working several years is worth more here than in exams with a volatile syllabus.
