- Written examination (Preliminary) is based on general studies.
- Question type- Objective.
- Time duration- 2 hrs.
- Maximum Marks – 150
- Questions in the written examination is from General Science, Indian History, Bihar History, Rivers of Bihar, National Movement and the contribution of the Bihar in National Movement and Economic condition of Bihar at the time of Independence.

Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) is responsible for conducting the BPSC 65th Examination. The exam is held at 35 districts, in 718 exam centers. With the help of this examination, 434 number of posts will be filled by the conducting body. For selection in this recruitment, a candidate has to appear in the prelims examination then after the main examination. Candidates who will clear all these above round then eligible for an Interview. Prelims is a two hours examination which consists of 150 total marks.
