HP TET Eligibility Criteria : The H.P. Board of School Education Dharamshala (Kangra) notifies the eligibility criteria for the Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test. The Board provides instruction for eligibility criteria for the examination. According to the Board, only the eligible candidates will be able to apply for the examination. Candidates should go through this before embarking upon the application process. The interested and the eligible candidates may apply online for the examination from the official website of the HP TET at hpbose.org.

HP TET Eligibility Criteria

HP TET eligibility contains the norms for the candidates who are desirous to apply for the Himachal Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test. The eligibility criteria for every course is different. The candidates can apply according to their eligibility for the examination. For the sake of the candidates, course wise eligibility for HP Teacher eligibility test is also discussed below. Candidates are advised to read the eligibility norms carefully before filling up the form for the HP Teacher Eligibility Test.

Educational Qualification

TGT (Arts)

  1. B.A./B.Com. with at least 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) OR
  2. B.A./B.Com. with at least 45% marks(only for those who have passed B.Ed. upto 30.08.2009) and 50% marks (for those who have passed B.Ed. after 30.08.2009) 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition norms
    and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  3. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.E1.Ed.) OR
  4. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years B.A.Ed. OR
  5. B.A./13.Com. with at least 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) (Special Education).

TGT(Non-Medical)

  1. B.Sc.(NM) with at least 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) OR
  2. B.Sc.(NM) with at least 45% marks(only for those who have passed B.Ed. upto 30.08.2009) and 50% marks (for those who have passed B.Ed. after 30.08.2009) 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE (Recognition norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard.OR
  3. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.E1.Ed.) OR
  4. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years B.Sc.(NM)Ed. OR
  5. B.Sc (NM) with at least 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) (Special  Education).

TGT(Medical)

  1. B.Sc.(Medical) with at least 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) OR
  2. B.Sc.(Medical) with at least 45% marks(only for those who have passed B.Ed. upto 30.08.2009 ) and 50% marks (for those who have passed B.Ed. after 30.08.2009 ) 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) in accordance with NCTE(Recognition norms and Procedure) regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  3. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years Bachelor in
    Elementary Education (B.E1.Ed.) OR
  4. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4 years B.Sc.(Medical)Ed. OR
  5. B.Sc(Medical) with at least 50% marks and 1 year Bachelor in Education(B.Ed.) Special Education.

Shastri

Shastri with at least 50% marks from an institution/University recognized by H.P. Government.

Language Teacher

  1. B.A. with Hindi as an elective subject and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whichever name known) OR
  2. BA with at least 50% marks with Hindi as an elective subject and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) OR
  3. BA with at least 45% marks with Hindi as an elective subject and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with the NCTE(Recognition Norms & Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  4. BA with at least 50% marks with Hindi as an elective subject and 1 year Bachelor
    in Education (B.Ed.) Special Education OR
  5. Prabhakar (Honours in Hindi) with 50% marks followed by B.A. Examination
    (English and one additional subject) with 50% marks from recognized University and
    1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) OR
  6. M.A. (Hindi) with at least 50% marks from a recognized University and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B,Ed.)

Junior Basic Training (JBT)

  1. 10+2 with 50% marks from a recognized Board/University and should possess two years JBT certificate course from an institute duly recognized by.the Central State Govt. OR
  2. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and two years Diploma in
    Elementary Education (by whatever name known). OR
  3. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and two years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known), in accordance with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002. OR
  4. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-years Bachelor of
    Elementary Education (B.E1.Ed). OR
  5. Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 2-years Diploma in
    Elementary Education (Special Education) OR
  6. Graduation and two years Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known).

Punjabi Language Teacher

  1. B.A. with Punjabi as an elective subject and 2 years Diploma in Elementary Education
    (by whatever name known) OR
  2. BA with at least 50% marks with Punjabi as an elective subject and 1 year Bachelor in
    Education (B.Ed.) OR
  3. BA with at least 45% marks with Punjabi as an elective subject and 1 year Bachelor in
    Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with the NCTE(Recognition Norms & Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  4. BA with at least 50% marks with Punjabi as an elective subject and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) Special Education OR
  5. Giani with 50% marks followed by B.A. Examination (English and one additional subject) with 50% marks from recognized University and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) OR
  6. M.A. (Punjabi) with at least 50% marks from a recognized University and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)

Urdu Language Teacher

  1. B.A. with Urdu as an elective subject and 2 years Diploma in, Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  2. BA with at least 50% marks with Urdu as an elective subject and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) OR
  3. BA with at least 45% marks with Urdu as an elective subject and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) in accordance with the NCTE(Recognition Norms & Procedure) Regulations issued from time to time in this regard. OR
  4. BA with at least 50% marks with Urdu as an elective subject and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) Special Education. OR
  5. B.T. with 50% marks followed by B.A. Examination (English & one additional subject with 50%marks from a recognized University and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.) OR
  6. M.A. (Urdu) with at least 50% marks from a recognized University and 1 year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed.)

Relaxations –Relaxation upto 5% in minimum educational qualification and also in minimum qualifying marks for TET to the candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PITH categories of Himachal Pradesh.
