Stages of selection that follow application form submission are given under.
- Join Indian Army forwards received applications to respective Command Headquarters.
- Selection teams from Command HQs hold preliminary interviews at college / University.
- They (Command Headquarters) provisionally recommend applicants. Shortlisting of applicants is done by Integrated Headquarter of MoD (Army) on basis of preliminary interviews held in colleges / universities.
- Services Selection Board (SSB) conducts SSB interviews at selection centres for shortlisted candidates.
- Candidates go through a two stage selection procedure to get finally selected.

Candidates have been put through two-stage selection procedure. Those who clear Stage-I went to Stage-II. Those who fail in Stage-I were returned on the same date. UES 27 Merit List 2016
It is important to realize that simply having qualified in SSB does not mean that one has been selected.
Indian Army will prepare a UES 27 Merit List 2016 for each engineering stream/subject. The basis of preparing merit list is SSB interview marks. Note that factors such as higher educational qualifications, previous performances, NCC background does not contribute in the merit list.

UES 27 SSB Interview Dates 2016
Only shortlisted eligible candidates will be interviewed at Selection Centres, Allahabad (UP), Bhopal (MP), Bangalore (Karnataka) and Kapurthala (Punjab). Call Up letter for SSB interview will be issued through candidate’s registered e-mail id and through SMS. Candidates will not be interviewed locally. Allotment of Selection Centre is at the discretion of DG Rtg, IHQ MoD (Army) and NO request for changes will be entertained in this regard.
