Mazagon Dock Ltd.
Mazagon Dock Ltd. also known as Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited aptly called “Shipbuilder of the Nation”. It is a Public Sector Undertaking of the Government of India based on a shipyard of Mazagaon, Mumbai. It manufactures warships and submarines for the Indian Navy and other commercial projects. The company has a large number of workshops with equipment and machines specific to hull fabrication and ship construction work.
History
The company was established back in the 18th century in the year 1934. The ownership of the company passed from Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company and the British-India Steam Navigation Company and finally to the Government of India. The company built its first warship for the Indian Navy and was named INS Nilgiri. It was registered as a private company in 1934 and was nationalised in the year 1960 as a PSU of the Government of India.

It also got awarded 6th Annual Greentech CSR Award 2018 held on 26th February 2019 At Hotel Vivanta, Panaji – Goa.
