Selection Process of Maharashtra Agriculture Service 2020
A simple three stage selection process is adopted by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission for the selection of candidates. The first two stages consist of selection exams while the final stage is the final recruitment interview. Read about each stage below.
Preliminary exam: This stage is the preliminary screening stage where all candidates are required to appear. Consisting of MCQ type paper on the subjects of Marathi, English, General Studies and Agriculture, it is mandatory to clear this stage to qualify for the main exam.
Main exam: This is the main stage of the selection and consists of two papers of 200 marks each. Among these, the first paper, based on Agriculture Science is compulsory while candidates have the flexibility to choose one between Agriculture and Agricultural Engineering for the second paper. Only those who qualify for the Prelims are issued admit cards to appear in the main exam.
Final interview: Those who qualify through the main exam are shortlisted in the merit lists and become eligible to appear in the final interview. It is the final stage of selection and besides a document verification all shortlisted candidates must pass this stage to secure their place in the final merit lists.
