Screening test pattern
The UPPSC notice on the HEO exam scheme (15 April 2026) gives this structure:

Marking rules and OMR sheet
The Advertisement No. D-6/E-1/2025 adds the rules that apply to the objective screening test:
- Marking more than one answer is treated as a wrong answer even if one of them is correct, and the same penalty applies.
- A question left blank carries no penalty.
- The Commission evaluates the OMR answer sheet only on the basis of the circles blackened on it.
- Whitener, blade, pin or rubber must not be used on the OMR answer sheet.
Minimum marks and weightage
SC and ST candidates must score at least 35% in the screening test, and candidates of other categories at least 40%, to be placed in the merit or select list; anyone below this standard is treated as disqualified. Only candidates who qualify in the screening test are called for interview.
| Stage | Marks | Weight in final merit |
|---|---|---|
| Screening test | 450 | 75% |
| Interview (personality test) | 50 | 25% |
Syllabus
