The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has released the online applications for the recruitment of various posts under Group D. The RRB Group D Selection Process will take place in two stage, i.e, Computer Based Test (CBT) and the other one is Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The application for the RRB Group D exam should be submitted only once. At the time of RRB Group D Selection Process, the multiple applications submitted by candidates will lead to disqualification of their candidature. Firstly, candidates will be chosen as per the eligibility criteria specified to them for the exam then the Result and RRB Group D Selection Process will decide the recruitment of the candidate.

RRB Group D Selection Process
The RRB Group D Selection Process is comprised of the three stages that are explained below in this page.
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
- Document Verification
After the successful conduction of these above three mentioned steps, the final selection for the recruitment will be held by the Railway Board.
RRB Group D Computer Based Test (CBT)
The first stage of RRB Group D Exam will be the computer-based test. It will be taken through online mode only. The call letter will be given to the candidates a week before the examination. It follows an Exam Pattern which is mentioned below.

- Duration of exam will be 90 minutes.
- There will be negative marking of 1/3rd of the total marks of every incorrect answer.

RRB Group D Syllabus
The Railway Board has designed a curriculum for the RRB Group D that will be useful for the Railway aspirants to score well in the exam.
Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
Logical and Analytical Reasoning: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical Reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
General Science: Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10 standard level.
General Awareness: Current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and any other subjects of importance.
RRB Group D Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is the second stage of the examination. After clearing the CBT, the candidates will be shortlisted to take the PET. This exam will be held by the Railway Board to check the physical abilities of a candidate. After qualifying in CBT, it is compulsory to take the PET test.

|Should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down.
Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance
|Should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 meters in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down.
Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.
RRB Group D Document Verification
The candidate who will clear the CBT and PET will be called for document verification. If there will be a tie in case of same marks, the older candidate will be considered for the selection. The Candidates shortlisted for document verification are required to produce all original documents along with the two sets of their self-attested photocopies. No additional time will be given to the candidates who fail to produce their original documents at the time of document verification. All certificates should be in Hindi or English only.

On the basis of three stages explained above, the final selection will take place for the recruitment of RRB Group D posts.
RRB Group D Vacancy Details
RRB has released 62,907 total vacancies for the various posts in Group D for different categories. The type of posts that comes under Group D is Trackman, Porter, Helper, Gangman, Gr. D (Store/Engg), Switchman, Cabinman, Leverman, Keyman, Shunter, Welder, Fitter, Pointsman.
RRB Group D Pay Scale: At initial the candidates who will be recruited will get Rs. 18,000/- as a grade pay.
