Assam TET Cut Off
The Special Assam TET 2026 has a two-part qualifying rule. It is not enough to clear the overall mark — a candidate must also clear a separate bar in the Language-1 section of the paper.
Qualifying marks
Each paper is out of 150 marks, and the Language-1 section is out of 30.
| Category | Overall (of 150) | Language-1 section (of 30) |
|---|---|---|
| General | 60% — 90 marks | 60% — 18 marks |
| SC / ST(Hills) / ST(Plain) / OBC / MOBC / PWD(PH) | 55% — 83 marks | 50% — 15 marks |
The relaxation for reserved categories is 5% on the overall bar and 10% on the Language-1 bar. Because the Language-1 requirement is the whole point of this special drive, it is a hard condition — a candidate who clears 90 overall but falls below the Language-1 minimum does not qualify.
What qualifying gives you
Clearing the Special Assam TET 2026 earns a qualifying certificate, valid for life, that lets you take part in teacher recruitment for elementary schools in Assam. It is a qualifying condition only — it does not itself secure a post, which is filled through a separate recruitment process.
